"It was great growing up with my dad as a hairdresser—you get free haircuts! We always had amazing shampoos, too, but I knew it wasn't my thing. I get too lazy to use them. Now I just use Kérastase Serums if it's dry. When I'm working, I try not to crowd my hair with products. To wash, I use the Redken Strengthing Shampoo and Conditioner. I don't even really wash it anymore though, I just let it live. That's why I keep it so short, it's much easier to handle. I'm going to keep cutting it shorter and shorter, and I hope one day, I get a film part where I need to shave my head. Next year I’m going to start Fox Luck with Rooney Mara and Jude Law, and then The Bell Jar directed by Kirsten Dunst... Maybe one of those?
My whole beauty routine is super easy, actually. Anything that can set my day off as quickly and cleanly as possible, I guess. I use the Kiehl's Calendula Face Wash with Bioderma Créaline and Eau Precieuse—that's a really old-school French product that not a lot of people use anymore, but my grandmom always had it. Also, Kiehl's Oil Free Lotion. The ones that are water-based and oil-free work the best on me. If it’s too thick it does that weird thing where it cakes up and pills. My favorite thing is Tracie Martyn's Enzyme Exfoliant. She's phenomenal—I went to her prior to the Met Ball. It's an exfoliator you rub in, but it's not abrasive at all, and it brightens your skin tone and removes impurities. It just makes you look awake and decent.
I've been using Sensai Fluid Foundation, which I didn't know about before, but the makeup artist on my last shoot was using it. It's really light and watery. Then it's a bit of blush and mascara—my blush is a very rosy shade from Chanel, and I like MAC Haute and Naughty Lash, which has a thin brush and a thicker brush together. One is just a light brush, and the other one gives a much fuller look. If I'm going out, I'm using that. And I always wear my pajamas or a dressing gown when I'm getting ready. It's cozy, and when I'm at work I'm surrounded by people, so the more comfortable and chill I can be, the better.
I love going for a massage, too. It's hard to implement, but it feels like it should be a bigger part of my routine. The Shibui Spa at the Greenwich Hotel has a shiatsu that is the best massage I've ever had. At home on my body, I oscillate between the Elizabeth Arden All-Over Miracle Oil and Kiehl's Creme De Corps, in the big yellow pot. That smells divine. I really love scent... I first started wearing perfume when I was a teenager—they were all really sweet. I've always adored lily of the valley, and now I've been wearing the new Miu Miu L'Eau Bleue fragrance. Alone, the lily can smell too sweet, but this one reacts with the skin and it's super fresh. I remember shooting the campaign and they brought over the tester bottle, and I had this second of like, 'What if I don't like it?' I smelled it and I was like, 'Oh, thank God.'" [Laughs]
