"I don't go out that much—usually it's just dinner. I think in New York there's a much better bar scene, but here [in Los Angeles], you just end up taking a really long time at dinner. [Laughs] If I'm going downtown, I'll go to Bestia, and then we'll get an after-dinner drink at Cole's, which has a little speakeasy in the back. Or maybe the Sunset Tower Hotel for dinner and then head over to the Chateau... I usually do that with Pia [Arrobio].
I do my own makeup for events and red carpet stuff. I love having a glass of wine and taking my time to do it—that’s really fun for me. Tonight it's really casual—I'm just heading to a friend's event—so I'll do my go-to look. But before makeup, I wash my face. Even if I already have makeup on, I like to start fresh. I use Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Face Wash or I’ll use this Sisley Cleansing Milk. Then maybe I’ll use the Sisley Black Rose Precious Oil—tonight I needed it because I was a little dry.
I don't always wear foundation, but tonight I wanted to do it up a little bit, so I'm using Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Foundation in 6 Medium. Then I tweeze my brows if I have any strays and brush them up with either Glossier Boy Brow or this Eyeko Brow Gel. It makes a really bushy brow—the brush really fans everything out in a way that I love. If I need to fill in any spots I use Marc Jacobs Brow Wow Defining Pencil in Ash Brown. Then I start on my eyes. Usually I'll grab this Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Eye Palette in Dolce Vita, which I'm in love with. You can see how much I love it! I use the rosy highlighter shade on the lid and then I do the red all around, and I blend in the crease with a Charlotte Tilbury blending brush.
I'm also very committed to a cat eye. I'm always like, 'I don't need it! I don't need it!' But I've been doing it since I was 15, so I always end up throwing it on. Tonight it's just a tried-and-true Revlon Liquid Liner. I'm always switching out mascara. The Yves Saint Laurent one I love, and I've also been using the Kevyn Aucoin Expert Mascara. Right now I'm using Eyeko's Black Magic Drama and Curl. The Sisley cleansing milk takes it off really well.
Then for cheeks, I use this Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Magic Lip and Cheek Balm—just on the cheekbones and the bridge of my nose. I love it! If it comes on too pink—which it can–I mix it with Charlotte Tilbury's Beach Stick in Ibiza. If I use this Charlotte Tilbury Bronze and Glow, my friends will be like, 'What the fuck is on your face?' The sculpt side I don't really use, it's mostly good for red carpet, but I love the highlighter. If that's not enough, I'll use this Rosie for Autograph Starstuck Stick. It's a bit more iridescent, and just a little heavier. I'll put that on my nose and the upper cheekbone. To finish, I like to spray the Glossier Soothing Face Mist to set my makeup.
My hair is very straight—people always think that I’ve ironed it when I get to set. They’re like, ‘How is your hair this straight?’ For me it’s always a battle of not damaging it too much and getting a perfect amount of texture. So I usually just curl it with some basic iron, I do it in sections and then brush it out and spray it with Elnett. Then I spray some Living Proof Instant Texture Mist in and I’ll use Bumble and bumble Prêt-à-Powder. I just ran out of that, so I've been using baby powder for more volume. The smell isn't great, but it works just as well. I've tried every kind of dry shampoo, and they don't work. I just have to use a powder instead."
