Just ten blocks south of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Georgia Louise was nestled in her Upper East Side Atelier this past weekend, welcoming VIP clients in preparation of Monday’s Met Gala. The facialist—who celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Linda Evangelista flock to see—had visits from her “ride-or-die client for over a decade” Anne Hathaway, Andra Day, and a “Met Gala veteran” whose identity she can’t reveal. A look at her busy Sunday and first Monday in May below.
Sunday, March 4
7AM alarm. Waking up felt… harsh this morning. Let’s just say last night’s Met Gala pre-party hit like a spicy margarita—delicious in the moment, less fun the next day. In a haze, I defaulted to survival mode, which meant a steam shower for 10 minutes, a Pulse+Glo honey sheet mask, and cryo tools to de-puff.
I don’t wear foundation, but I live for the Gucci Westman contour stick in Biscuit, which I shamelessly use as blush. I slicked my hair back with a small Deborah Pagani DP pin and put on some Graziela Gems floating diamonds around my neck. On the rest of my body: wide-leg pants from Veronica Beard and a Sandro shirt. After a stop at Ralph’s Coffee for an almond croissant and latte, I kissed my boyfriend goodbye and started the walk to the Atelier—it was the calm before the storm. When I got in, Julia, my right hand and studio queen, was already readying the space with lit candles, prepped towels, and warm beds. Outside it was rainy, but inside, it smelled like heaven. Now this is what I call a red carpet sanctuary.
Ding! At 9AM, my first client, Andra Day, pinged to say she was running late—classic Met Gala vibes. If you know, you know. Just getting in and out of The Carlyle’s elevator takes 45 minutes during Gala week. When Andra made it in at 9:30AM, there were big hugs all around. We hadn’t seen each other since shooting a La Mer commercial in a Malibu mansion—I had to pretend it was my house, which is still hilarious. We were already belly laughing as I set up. Her treatment? Light extractions, a triple enzyme glow-up using Environ’s Alpha Hydroxy Micro-Exfoliator Gel [Editor's note: try Neostrata's if you aren't a professional], my Enzyme Peeling Mask, and Environ’s 10% Lactic Acid Gel [Editor's note: here's a non-professional one that's more readily available], and microcurrent for lift. Just two minutes in, she was already radiant and Julia was snapping pics—full glam mode.
11AM brought a reality check: laundry, folding towels, sterilizing tools—it’s not-so-glam, but it’s the heartbeat of what I do.
Next up was a longtime Chanel client and dear friend—always lowkey, always anonymous. We talked about Andra Day’s Chanel handbag and my pipe dream of getting on that PR list—honestly, I’d need to win an Oscar for “Best Facial” to get that invite. Then we got into plastic surgery gossip. She always wants the tea, but my lips are sealed. We moved on to a luxurious radio frequency treatment, collagen infusion, and LED work.
Lunch was a chicken bowl from Just Salad eaten standing. Notes charted, emails sent—no time to breathe, but it’s worth it.
At 2PM, I had another unnamed Met Gala regular that’s been attending for a decade—can’t say who! Her focus? Hydration and forehead smoothing. I customized her session with ultrasound, radio frequency, deep hydration layers, and a sculpting massage. The forehead was tense at first, but smooth and glassy after. Jill Kargman followed. She walked in looking like she just stepped off the runway—just effortless glam. We did her signature “Snow White” facial that features: a new Korean serum I’m testing—she’s obsessed with how it evens out her skin.
After a quick herbal tea and room reset, my ride-or-die client for over a decade, Anne Hathaway, arrived. We never do the same facial twice, but depending on what she needs, it’s always a mix of lift, sculpt, deep tissue fascia release, or pure hydration. She’s been in full production mode for her new movie—bouncing from fittings to hair to me—and she was ready to just breathe. We talked about her Carolina Herrera look and how she loved the design process. Last week, she mentioned people thought she had a facelift after Ralph Lauren’s fall 2025 runway show, but really, it was the work of a snatched high pony, her new makeup artist Kristofer Buckle, and a killer lifting facial with me. I’ll take the compliment!
I was cooked by 8PM. My hands were throbbing, but I finally met my boyfriend for omakase at Sushi by M. Chef Kevin always spoils us with extra uni and caviar—just the over-the-top ending I needed after a Met Gala prep marathon.
Monday, May 5
Another 7AM wakeup call, but this time I felt good. I rolled out of bed and onto my yoga mat, taking a 15-minute stretch before jumping into a quick 20-minute mat workout. Then it was time for coffee. This time, I made it at home, grounding myself in the ritual. I fasted, so no breakfast—just black coffee until midday. My body loves the reset on mornings like this.
Amanda, my lovely receptionist, greeted me with her usual warm smile when I walked in. She was already prepping my treatment room like an absolute pro. I added my finishing touches of lit candles and carefully arranged tools—everything serene and spotless.
My first client arrived at 9AM. She’s a VIP Met Gala veteran—I’ll keep her name under wraps, but I can say that she stepped out in a jaw-dropping Prada gown. I treated her Friday, so Monday was our “icing on the cake” moment. I began with a collagen and oxygen glaze to hydrate and awaken her skin, followed by my signature sculpting massage. It was one full hour of deep lifting and lymphatic magic. We finished with one of my Pulse+Glo honey masks and cryo tools to lock in that radiant glow. She walked out looking like a Disney princess—I felt like I could see literal sparkles!
When she left, I had a quick edit session to finalize my notes for this exact piece for Into The Gloss—I want every word to reflect the truth and glamour of what this day means in our world. Afterward, TV star—and one of my dearest friends—Tehmina Sunny walked in already glowing. It was just my job to get her red carpet ready. We went straight into microcurrent and RF to sculpt her cheekbones and tighten her jawline. By the end, she was absolutely radiant, snatched, and lifted. She dashed out the door looking divine and nearly forgot her handbag in the rush to get out into an Uber for her makeup.
I finished Met Gala prep at 12:30PM, but I still had a meeting with my team—and an everything bowl from Isle of Us. Then at 2PM, it was my turn for a facial with Taliya, my elite aesthetician, before going home and working on client charting and emails. I was so happy laying in bed and getting slapped! What a lovely perk of my job.
