'I'm Kristin Martin, [@kristinellenmartin], and I’m an interior designer and project manager at ASH NYC, a design and development firm in Brooklyn. With my job, it’s all about balance and simplifying. Editing down to the essentials is extremely important to me, in terms of design and in terms of my beauty routine. Really, I'm a creature of habit, and I like to have a few products that I buy over and over again rather than trying out too many trends and cluttering my bathroom.

Streamlining my skincare means buying what I like, and what I like comes in the beautiful tubs of La Mer. In the mornings I wash my face with La Mer The Cleansing Foam, which is the most gentle face wash ever, and follow up with La Mer The Moisturizing Gel Cream. I love the gel in the summer because it’s super lightweight, feels extremely breathable, and doesn’t make me feel oily. In the winter I use Crème De La Mer, which is heavier, but good for when my skin is really dry. Following that, I put La Mer Illuminating Eye Gel on my eyes to make them feel instantly fresh and energized.

For makeup, I start with Smashbox Photo Finish Color Correcting Foundation Primer. My skin gets red very easily, and I have found that its color-correcting green pigment is good for that. It not only calms down my facial redness, but it also makes the rest of my makeup go on so smoothly. I use Dr. Jart+ BB Dis-A-Pore Beauty Balm. I love this cream so much because I have sensitive skin, and it doesn't irritate it at all. It also minimizes my pores, gives enough coverage without looking cakey, and looks effortless—plus, it's SPF 30!

I like using a little bit of Nars Bronzing Powder in Laguna, which I've been buying for as long as I can remember. I place it under my cheekbones and along the top of my forehead to lightly contour. For blush, I use Tom Ford Cheek Color in Ravish. Then, I highlight the high points of my cheekbones, the tip of my nose, my Cupid's bow, and the middle of my forehead with Guerlain's Météorites in 2 Clair. These little pearl beads will change your life—they give you the most subtle, illuminating glow. Another thing is that the makeup itself smells amazing.

For my eyebrows, I use Anastasia Beverly Hills' Brow Wiz in Taupe and a clear mascara to set them. On my lips I keep simple with just a swipe of Chanel Rouge Coco Baume Hydrating Conditioning Lip Balm. I was never that into color on my lips, actually. Growing up, though, I do remember wearing a Stila lip gloss when I was in high school and getting in trouble with my teacher because of it...I went to a Catholic school with a big no-makeup policy.

Always, always, before I head out of my apartment, I spritz a little Acqua Di Parma Blu Mediterraneo Arancia Di Capri or Maison Louis Marie Antidris Cassis Perfume Oil. Like my moisturizers, I categorize my fragrances with the seasons. Blu Mediterraneo is for the spring and summer, but Antridris Cassis is my winter fragrance.

For any touch ups during the day, I take my Caudalíe Beauty Elixir with me. It has this cooling effect that makes my skin feel instantly nourished and fresh…it’s addicting. I don’t leave the apartment without it. Then when I get home at night, I like to relax with a mask on my face, a glass of wine in my hand, and my golden retriever. I do a mask every other night, and I circulate between four depending on my focus. For dullness, I use the SK-II Brightening Derm Revival Mask, which helps even out my skin tone. When I need a bit more nourishment, can't go wrong with the classic, one-and-only SK-II Facial Treatment Mask. My skin feels so healthy after I use it, which is why I keep coming back. Glamglow Super Mud Clearing Treatment is good for deep cleaning and little blemishes. And when I want to feel refreshed, I use the Murad Intensive-C Radiance Peel. I get excited whenever I use this one—it's my favorite of the bunch. Afterwards, my skin feels so incredibly soft and full of life—redness is gone, and I'm left with a bright, glow-y complexion. I end the night with eye cream from my La Mer. I pile on The Eye Concentrate and go over it with Crème De La Mer before I'm off to bed, fully moisturized.”
