I do not trust eye cream. This is mostly because I tend to overzealously apply moisturizers in general (usually to minimal consequence). But when I overzealously apply eye cream, boy are there consequences—really annoying consequences like milia. So I try my best to stay away despite the large, dark craters I colloquially refer to as my eyes and the dark shadows they cast.
Eye gel, on the other hand, is fair game. It's got to be something about the consistency—not as heavy, not as many (or any) consequences. So right after a good roll with the Clinique All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye Massage, I lightly sweep on the tiniest little pump of La Mer's Illuminating Eye Gel. To me, it feels a bit like a hybrid. The texture is just hydrating enough without being too greasy for daytime, but it brightens me up the way a good Champagne eyeshadow might—without actually having to use an eyeshadow. That said, it is also an excellent primer for any sort of adornment you're looking to add to your lid. So what is that, three products in one? There's something about that Miracle Broth, man. Always does the trick.
