Wouldn't haircuts be easier if they took place over the course of several days? Take an inch off; wait a day and see if you want to go shorter. Consider bangs in the chair, then go out to dinner with friends (and maybe knock back a couple of glasses of Cabernet) before making the final decision. If Annabelle Dexter-Jones' cut is anything to show for that method, perhaps it's worth serious consideration. She told us back in 2012:
'When I go in to see [hairstylist] Ashley Javier, I just let him do whatever he wants to do. Last time, he was like, ‘What do you think about bangs?’ My hair was really dry and dead, and this haircut was just a way to, I don’t know, clean it up. A lot of people tell me it makes me looks younger, but it makes me feel older, because I’ve never had, like, a ‘hairstyle.’ It’s always been long and wavy and messy. I went to Ashley’s the day before to do the color, and at that point he was thinking about the bangs. So, he gave me a bang piece and said, ‘Do a focus group.’ So me and my friends just played with the fake bangs for hours. The next day I went back and he cut it.”
And just like that, you've stopped making regretful hair decisions. Congratulations.
