If muppet coats aren't for you—hello, nice to meet you, won't you tell me your name? Also, we've found you an alternative. i-D's Julia Sarr-Jamois recently resold me on the classic windbreaker, an item that had been on indefinite personal leave from most closets since middle school. It's time to break it out again, guys—the windbreaker is officially a Fashion Thing.

Besides providing protection from the elements, a light, flexible jacket in a cheerful color is about as useful as it gets. So let's take a minute to appreciate that functionality also naturally means good form these days. In the market for a new one? Tom recommends L.L. Bean. Just placed my order.
