Everyone seems to have an opinion on The Official Color of 2014. First, Pantone, the self-proclaimed “authority of color,” announced that a purple called Radiant Orchid was the hue with which to adorn your walls, accent pillows, sweaters, lips, eyes, and nails this year. Naturally, we had some thoughts on the subject. But most recently, backstage at Derek Lam, Tom Pecheux did not stutter when he declared “green” the color for Fall 2014 while doling out a dramatic hunter/olive smoky eye to the models. (Emerald was Pantone's Color of the Year in 2013...)

So, green it is (apologies, Radiant Orchid), and we've found a universally flattering, casual khaki version to suit every skin tone and shade of iris: Chanel's Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Khaki Precieux. It's the perfect neutral, right up there with black, navy, and chocolate brown. The soft silicon-based crayon is an army green with a bit of gold shimmer, appearing smoky and 'lived-in' on your skin. You can also blend it out on your top and bottom lash lines, for an even softer effect.
