Yesterday, while shooting a V.A.P. (very awesome person) for a Top Shelf, said V.A.P. told us she likes Fresh's oval bar soaps not so much for their creamy lathering or aromatic qualities, but mostly because of how pretty they look stacked in her medicine cabinet. In the same way that fresh flowers make you happy, beauty products that look good make you feel good, don't ya think? Take Givenchy's new Le Rouge lipstick, which, at $36, has all the aesthetic trappings of the house's handbags (creamy black leather! Silver studs! Hard angles!), at a fraction of the price. This tube is seriously, seriously chic—so much so that it's currently holding court on Emily's desk, more as an objet d'art than a makeup item. The good news is that the actual lipstick (Fuchsia Irrésistible being our favorite of the eight shades) is no wallflower either, especially when paired with the matching nail polish.
