What did we do before Instagram? Certainly not document the artisanal butter—one vanilla-flavored and the other, red pepper—that our meals revolved around for the better part of two weeks while in Paris for the fall/winter 2013 shows.
Stevie Dance (of Shop Ghost) was my roommate, along with a few Diptyque candles and a miniature polar bear figurine that came with the Stella McCartney invite, in a ground-floor industrialist loft in Lili Barbery-Coulin’s Left Bank building—a stone’s throw from Café Flore and dangerously close to the Dries Van Noten boutique. Highlights (and highly ‘gram-able moments) of the week included: the silver eye at Dior, the fur wedge booties that Isabel Marant showed for fall, an invite to the Saint Laurent show, several all-star breakfasts at Claus, and dinner at my new restaurant discovery, Shu, with stylist Kate Young (wherein we coined the term “#shrimpstache”). Lowlights—not pictured—included a broken heel, a forgotten razor, and shit weather for the first half of the week…not so bad.
Anywho, join us for a walk down memory lane through the @IntoTheGloss and @EmilyWWeiss ‘grams of Paris Fashion Week. Maybe have a baguette while you’re at it.
