Everyone wants to smell unique these days. No one wants to share a perfume “personality” with the person standing next to them. So here’s an idea: Why not look to the stars and let your birth chart lead the way? Because what’s more definitively you—and not them—than a scent based off of the specific combination of your sun, moon, and rising signs?
That’s essentially where we landed when astrologer Francesca Vuillemin stopped by the Into The Gloss office to smell all 12 perfumes from Dedcool, the five year old fragrance brand that’s earned a spot on every LA girl's perfume shelf. With each sniff, Francesca was able to pinpoint each of the Dedcool fragrance’s astrological counterpart. Me? I’m a Gemini sun, Scorpio moon, and Aquarius rising, a combination a friend once told me was “scary.” I don’t know about that, but I do know that when I mix Dedcool’s Taunt, Milk, and 02, I feel like a bolder version of myself—one that gets a suspicious amount of compliments. Threateningly good? Maybe.
But what about you? Below, your zodiac sign’s fragrance match according to Francesca—and maybe your new signature scent combination.
Sagittarius (November 22–December 21): Xtra Milk
Notes: Bergamot, white musk, amber
Francesca says: “Sagittarius is a dual fire sign. Just the very idea of grabbing a perfume that has “Xtra” in the name is very Sag. They live in a season of excess—think: Thanksgiving and holiday parties—and they’re ruled by Jupiter, the largest, most ‘extra’ planet. They don’t really know how to say no. They’re friendly and talk to everyone, and a scent like Xtra Milk is the perfect conversation starter. It smells a little nutty, and let’s be honest… Sagittariuses are a little nuts, too.”
Capricorn (December 22–January 19): Madonna Lilly
Notes: Sandalwood, black pepper, amber, exotic woods, moss, cardamom
Francesca says: “Capricorn is a cardinal, long-game thinker—the strategist of the zodiac. Madonna Lilly is quite woodsy, like sticking your head inside a cedar closet, but it’s also peppery. It’s timeless and feels like a scent you could wear forever; it’s not trendy or loud, almost like something a stylish parent passed down. It’s elegant without overpowering: you wear it, it doesn’t wear you.”
Aquarius (January 20–February 18): 02
Notes: Juniper, green floral, sheer woods, patchouli, sandalwood
Francesca says: “Aquarius is a fixed air sign. You can’t put them in a box. 02 is just as hard to pin down; I’ve never smelled anything like it. It has layers, it’s unusual, and it makes you lean in for more. All of that feels very aligned with Aquarius. There’s a faint antique-store energy to it, like opening a window in a room that hasn’t been cracked open in a while. Aquarians love preservation and the past, so it makes sense that they’d gravitate toward a scent like this. They’d wear it because they want to without caring what anybody else thinks.”
Pisces (February 19–March 20): 03 Blonde
Notes: Juniper berries, pomelo, saffron, accord coir, black violet, crystal rose, blonde woods, raspberry, vetiver
Francesca says: “Pisces is a dual sign—the final water sign that absorbs everything from the zodiac before it. I really think it's one of the most brilliant signs because they can do two things at the same time. Blonde has that same duality. It feels vintage and powdery from the violet, yet grounded and earthy, with saffron lifting it into something bright. It’s dreamy and layered, just like Pisces.”
Aries (March 21–April 19): Spring
Notes: Bergamot, cardamom, star anise, geranium, incense, lavender, moss, patchouli, vetiver
Francesca says: “Aries is ruled by Mars, so there’s this adrenal, slightly masculine, forward-pushing energy baked into the sign. And when you think about spring in the Northern Hemisphere, everything is literally blooming and moving again after winter—that dynamism is very Aries. They’re head-first, self-starting, ‘let’s go’ people. Spring fits them perfectly because it has that same charge to it; it’s the kind of scent they’d smell and immediately want to leap into whatever’s next.”
Taurus (April 20–May 20): Red Dakota
Notes: Clementine, gardenia, woods, amber, wild berries
Francesca says: “Taurus, a fixed Earth sign ruled by Venus, knows exactly what it wants. They love green, nature, sensuality, and elegance. Red Dakota is citrusy, garden-like, grounding, and lush—very Taurus. And the ‘Red’ in the name? Think of the bull and the bullseye: this is the scent they’d wear to go after exactly what they want.”
Gemini (May 21–June 20): Taunt
Notes: Bergamot, fresh dew, floral, cassis, vanilla, amber
Francesca says: “Gemini is a dual sign, and Taunt has the same split personality—in a good way. It’s a little like an orange creamsicle: classic but with a twist. The scent adapts to whoever’s wearing it, mirroring Gemini’s many sides. And because they’re an air sign ruled by communication, Taunt naturally sparks conversation. You tell someone the name, and they’ll want the story. This one might even help you flirt your way into a date with a Gemini.”
Cancer (June 21–July 22): Mochi Milk
Notes: Marshmallow, peach nectar, incense, sweet rice milk, vanilla bean, jasmine petals, Australian sandalwood, amber, white musk
__Francesca says: __ “Cancer is the cardinal water sign. It’s deeply tied to memory and home. I always say they build worlds from the inside out, creating comfort wherever they go. Mochi Milk is creamy, sugary, and vanilla-soft—like dipping into a childhood memory. It’s comforting, nostalgic, and familiar, exactly like being around a Cancer.”
Leo (July 23–August 22): Sunlit Blooms
Notes: Orange blossom, white floral, salty vanilla
Francesca says: “Leo is a fire sign born at the height of summer. They’re warm and luminous without even trying. And it’s not that they want to show off, but because they’re ruled by the sun, they’re a walking star. When they walk into a space, they radiate joy—that’s their inner child coming out. Sunlit Blooms smells like playtime at the beach—sunny, happy, golden. You could even say it smells like love, fitting since Leo rules the heart.”
Virgo (August 23–September 22): 04
Notes: Fig, pepper, orange, lemon, sandalwood, patchouli
Francesca says: “Virgos love structure but are ruled by Mercury, the planet always in motion. 04 is earthy, grounding, and clarifying. It’s the scent that cuts through Virgo’s decision paralysis so they can say, ‘OK, I know what I want’ and actually go for it.”
Libra (September 23–October 22): Aura
Notes: Lemon, pear, cassis, marine, lotus, rose, jasmine, patchouli, cedar, musk, caramel, vanilla
Francesca says: “Libra is an air sign ruled by Venus. They naturally sweeten the energy of any room they enter. Aura is floral, feminine, and crisp—like catching a whiff of someone’s perfect shampoo. It’s timeless, much like Libras. Imagine a Libra walking in, and someone turns their head like, What is that? I want to follow them.”
Scorpio (October 23–November 21): Milk
Notes: Bergamot, white musk, amber
Francesca says: “Scorpio is a fixed water sign. It’s deep, intense, and observant. Milk is a true skin scent: subtle, stealthy, and intimate. Scorpios don’t announce themselves; they like to be a fly on the wall and let people in slowly. This is the scent someone only notices when they’re close—and only because a Scorpio allows them to get close. It’s sensual in that unforgettable Scorpio way.”
