Well, friends, we're really in it now—the throes of fashion week—and I'll be frank with you: I've felt better. I've been subsisting pretty entirely on backstage catering for the past few days—I think if you were to cut me open there'd be a whole lot of Baked by Melissa hot-pink cupcakes involved. (Disgusting? Yes. But also true: there was a never-ending supply at Betsey Johnson. Je ne regrette rien.) I'm on a merry-go-round of sugar highs and lows, which, combined with last night's jaunt to the Maker magazine party (I wrote a story for Issue 2 on artist Ryan McGinness), has left me feeling a bit green around the gills. So, I'm taking a cue from yesterday's luxuriously louche, rock 'n roll, ' I used to date one/all of the Rolling Stones' Wes Gordon presentation and wearing one of his crocodile-print silk t-shirts from spring (but wishing it was his gold sequinned pants for next fall), along with Armani Lip Maestro in #503, a warmer, red-er fuschia than Emily's #504 of yesterday, but no less of a punch of color. It's basically a vitamin B shot to the face/soul. Because while I may feel like I haven't slept in forever and have veins full of pink icing, I'll be damned if you can tell by looking at me.
