Into The Gloss

“I loved filming Summer House and I will always be thankful for it, but last summer something shifted and I was growing in a way where it wasn’t fun for me anymore. Like, I don’t want to go out two nights in a row—I’ll pass away. I sat with it in the fall, went through a breakup over the winter, and then when the spring came around I felt strongly that I couldn’t offer as much as I used to. I also felt like I was taking a spot from a 25-year-old girl’s turn. I built such a great career from my time on the show and other girls should have that opportunity.

One of my main projects is the Giggly Squad podcast I co-host with my best friend Hannah Berner. We really want to make people laugh, even if they only have 15 minutes to listen. I’ve also been having a lot of fun with my pajama brand Daphne. I didn’t go to fashion school, so I didn’t know how having my own fashion line would come to fruition, but it was always something I wanted. Then we filmed a season of Summer House during COVID where there was nothing to do but lay in bed. I started seeing people online say, ‘Paige is so lazy. She never gets out of bed.’ I hated feeling misunderstood, and in that moment I could have sulked, or I could choose to lean into it. The moment was right and I felt like it was too good of an opportunity to pass up. Pajamas just made the most sense. For a lack of a better way to say it, my haters came up with a business idea.

BEAUTY
Everyone around me gets Botox. I loved it when I first got it…until I didn’t. My lip shape changed and I couldn’t talk properly. I was FaceTiming my mom one morning and she asked what was happening to my mouth—I literally looked drunk. I called my Botox lady and she had me go in to balance it, but then I had the same problem later on because the Botox on the first side wore off first. And then a part of my mouth was going up so you couldn’t see any of my bottom teeth when I talked, but then randomly you could see all of my teeth. It still hasn’t fully worn off and my whole job is to talk. And honestly? I knew this was going to happen. That’s why I haven’t gotten a boob job because I know my body would have the implants for one day and reject them.

SKINCARE
Thank God I roomed with Hannah when I started Summer House because she eased any pressure I felt about how I’d look on the show. I was very nervous about waking up in the morning and not having makeup on, but I realized that wasn’t realistic. I wasn’t going to shower and put on makeup before the cameras got to the house in the morning, especially if we went out the night before. I had to lean into skincare.

I dealt with acne throughout all of my twenties. I went on spironolactone three times before I turned 30, but I had to stop taking it because I kept passing out—but I was stunning and my skin was flawless. Then I turned to Face Reality, a brand that specializes in acne-prone skin. A couple of their products, like the mandelic serum, really changed the game for me, along with the tretinoin that I get from my dermatologist.

Because I do so much glam, I like double cleansing. I know you can use the same cleanser twice, but I have this thing in my head where I’m convinced my skin won’t like that it’s the same product. So I’ll use Face Reality’s Barrier Balance cleanser and Tula’s Cult Classic. My skin gets congested if I don’t tone at least once a week, so I’ll occasionally use Face Reality’s Moisture Balance toner. Then I’ll use their mandelic before going in with the Caudalíe Vinoperfect serum, followed by Tula’s moisturizer and their sunscreen. And for eye cream I turn to Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair. There’s something about Estée Lauder where I’m like, yeah, they know eyes; it feels grown-up.

I’m simple when it comes to my lips—I like CoverGirl’s Clean Fresh Jammy lip sleeping mask. I was a Laneige sleep mask girl for years, but I hate that it comes in a tub. Speaking of sleep, I always fall asleep when I see my facialist Madalaina Conti. Honestly, I couldn’t tell you what she does—she’s so ASMR; her voice is so soothing—but I try to see her once a month.

MAKEUP
I usually only wear makeup if I’m recording Giggly Squad or something. I start with the Milk Hydro Grip primer. I’m not sure if this makes sense, but my makeup ‘sticks’ better without the primer feeling sticky. Then I put on Makeup by Mario concealer. It’s a good concealer, but I also like it because Mario Dedivanovic himself gave it to me—like now I have to buy it for the rest of my life. That’s followed by Saie’s Slip Tint. It’s very sheer, and sometimes I’ll make it even more sheer by mixing it with a serum. I like Saie products in general—they have great bronzers and blushes. I love all the shades of the Dew blushes, but recently I’ve been using Baby, the really pinky-pink one.

Victoria Beckham’s Contour Styluses changed my life. They’re so skinny so you can be precise. There was a day where Marble was the only thing besides concealer I used on my face and my makeup had never looked better. After that, it’s time for mascara. I like the Sumptuous one from Estée Lauder, but I’m always switching up mascaras because I get sick of them. I went through a phase where I was using one from Thrive Causemetics, and I’ve had an Hourglass phase, too. Charlotte Tilbury’s setting spray goes all over on top of my face. Then it’s a touch of Maybelline’s Lifter gloss in Silk. I honestly love drugstore glosses. Not only are Maybelline’s good, but if I lose my tube I can just get another one for less than $10.

Filling in my eyebrows is almost too intense during the daytime, so I just run Maybelline’s Super Lock Glue through them. I know it comes in such teenybopper packaging—it’s adorable—but it just works the best. Azi Sacks does my brows so they’re always in good shape. She’s the best brow person I’ve ever come across. She only lets you see her once every four months, maybe, and you’re not supposed to touch them in between appointments. She has quite the operation going on in her studio. There are three people at a time sitting in a chair, so while one person is getting their brows tinted or something, she’ll work on you—she has a dental light and then goes in only with tweezers. I’ve met some of the most incredible women when I’ve seen her, including Laurie David—Cazzie David’s mom!

WELLNESS
I started doing The Sculpt Society classes after COVID. You can do them online, which is important to me because I hate workout classes—I don’t want to be around a bunch of people. With TSS, I love all the pink, cute accoutrements, but I especially like that I can do the classes in my own time, at my own speed, in my own apartment, on my computer. Recently though, I’ve been doing 12-3-30, where you set a treadmill on a 12-percent incline at a speed of three miles per hour for 30 minutes.

I get UTis all the time. Uqora, which makes the urinary tract supplements I like, was featured on The Today Show probably six years ago. My dad called me and said, ‘Hey, I know sometimes you have this problem, but I just saw that this woman started this company. You should look into it.’ I was like, ‘Thanks so much, dad.’ [Laughs] I know they have D-mannose, but other than that, I have no idea what’s in there. They’re definitely not a cure, but they help.

Let me tell you about the Lemme Sleep gummies. They should check if they’re FDA-approved because they’re so intense. [Laughs] They’re the first melatonin vitamins I’ve taken that really put me to sleep. I like Lemme’s Relax gummies, too. They really do help me chill. They also taste good. And Kourtney Kardashian, Lemme’s founder, is so nice. I worked with her recently for a Lemme and Daphne project for Sleep Awareness Month and she was so down-to-Earth and sweet. And efficient. We got in there and did what we had to do in an hour and a half and then I went to lunch. It was the best.

Having a cat is also really important to my wellness. Take it from me: If you really want to lower your cortisol level, get a cat. Daphne changed my whole life—she’ll be two on April 7; she’s an Aries. There are so many times where she’ll do something and I’m like, ‘Yup, that’s my daughter,’ like I birthed her. One time I was looking for her and found her looking at herself in the mirror. And you know what? I get it, she’s stunning.

HAIR
Mitchell Ramazon cuts my hair when I’m on set with him, but I’d say he trims it at least every two months. Sometimes I’ll randomly tell him to cut a bang or something. One time we had a [Summer House] reunion and I cut a bob at 5AM. Clearly I was going through a lot. Like yeah, let’s chop all of my hair off before I have to go fight with 12 people. [Laughs] But you just have a different persona when you have a bob. It very much feels like an accessory. There were so many times where I’d put an outfit on and I’d think, This is going to go great with my bob; this outfit is specifically for my hair. And besides, you can always add extensions if you hate it, so it’s actually not as risky as it seems.

My hair grows quickly, and part of the reason I think it does is because of a girl I saw on TikTok a year and a half ago. She would brush her scalp and hair with a lice pick. First of all, it looked relaxing. Secondly, it got me wondering how often I massage my scalp other than when I get my haircut and they wash it for you. The lice pick was all about stimulating the follicles. I started doing that once a week, scratching my head with the lice pick, adding in hair oil and putting a mask on my ends. And I’m always switching up my shampoo and conditioner because I feel like your hair gets used to them. I mostly air dry it with whatever leave-in conditioner I have around; I’m not precious about it. But I love Tresemme’s A-list collection for styling. I’ve used the hairspray practically since I was in the womb.

NAILS
Nails are a sore subject for me. I used to have the best real nails, but the attitude with my job is like If you don’t have your nails done, did you even shower? I was doing them myself every week when I was doing Summer House, but it just became a lot. That’s when I started getting builder gel. Now I see Jacqueline Pham every three to four weeks. I pretty much always get a custom pink that Jacqueline mixes for me. My toes have to match my fingers—that’s a rule of mine. I’ll never forget: I was in high school and I went to get my nails done with one of my girlfriends and I told her I was going to get hot pink on my nails and green on my toes. She looked at me with the most disgusted look on her face and said, ‘That’s disgusting. Why would you ever?’ So much went through my mind. Like, I wasn’t the girliest one in the room. I remember thinking, Oh my God, she’s right. She opened my eyes to a whole new world, mostly because I was traumatized. I haven’t mismatched my nails since, and she’s right, they’re much more visually pleasing this way.

FRAGRANCE
As you might expect, I like very girly scents, anything with vanilla and florals. I love switching them up, but right now I’m really into Burberry’s Her with strawberry and orange blossom—I love how sweet it is. Victoria Beckham makes great scents. I don’t mind if my candles are a bit more masculine. Diptyque’s 34 Boulevard Saint German is one of my favorites. It’s floral but also a little woody and spicy. I really like the brand called Big Ass Luxuries—they’re massive and have a lot of wicks. They smell like something you’d sniff in a hotel. And I’m obsessed with the Loewe Tomato Leaves room spray. I can’t remember who gifted it to me, but I can’t get enough; you’d just never think you want your home to smell like a tomato, but it’s earthy and so good.”
