You've probably already heard of Rescue Spa—the foremost online retailer for the whole Biologique Recherche P50 family, plus other beauty bits and bobs from the likes of Cire Trudon, Davines, Valmont, and a host of other European-sounding brand names. But if you're from Philadelphia, or if you've maybe traveled there for business or pleasure sometime in the past couple years, you might have visited the actual Rescue Spa, which offers a superior range of products plus tons of available services from it's oak-gilt suite on Walnut Street. Philadelphia Magazine calls it the "Best Lunchtime Zit Fix." Yelp user Andrea S. eulogizes the "soft couches."
This is one example of hundreds, nay, thousands of hidden beauty gems littered across the globe. You hear a lot about Stanley's, Jin Soon TriBeCa, and Aedes because they're good, sure, but they're also conveniently located near the offices of beauty editors. Do some more digging and you'll discover places like Mills Pharmacy, Detroit's destination for homeopathic medicine and Panier de Sens Hand Cream, or San Francisco's Ayla, which has a more exhaustive clean beauty spread than Gwyneth's bathroom cabinet. There's a whole world of boutiques and spas and boutique spas out there. Tell us: What's your favorite? You're now a contributing writer to Into The Gloss (congrats!) and this is your first field reporting assignment. What's the best beauty spot in your city?
