"My name is Amanda (@itsamandalim) and I live in Los Angeles. For work, I assist an awards show stylist, Elizabeth Stewart. My job involves tons of market work—keeping up with the runway collections is a big part—and the rest is a lot of logistics. Making sure all clothing samples and accessories are where they need to be, when they need to be there. Follow-through is important in styling, and the logistical stuff is a huge part of what sets the tone of our relationships in this business.

Fashion is my job, but I've been into beauty forever. I remember when I was about to turn 10, all I could talk about was how much I wanted a full on vanity set. My mom bought me the Kirkland one for my tenth birthday... you know, the four-tiered fold-out box from Costco that had the biggest selection of eyeshadows, blushes, and lip colors you've ever seen? I made my friends do their makeup with me all night at my birthday party. Now my philosophy is about accentuating my features. I couldn’t get through my workday without the Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint in St. Moritz. It’s the perfect tinted moisturizer with just the right amount of coverage, and also SPF. Glossier Haloscope is a daily product, too. I like highlighting my cheeks and browbone, just to enhance. I have three different shades—I use the lighter ones during the day, and the bronze shade during the summer.

I use two different shades of Glossier Boy Brow, actually—brown for day, and black for night, for more drama. The rest of the eye routine is simple. On the lid, I do a wash of Tom Ford's baby pink shadow from the Golden Mink palette, plus a few swipes of Diorshow Lash Extension Effect Volume Mascara in Very Black. When I'm going out at night, I'll do a deep berry lip or poppy red. Those shades make me feel fancy.

The most useful skincare tip was from a client—never go to bed without washing your face. So I wash my face every morning and night with Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser and tone with rosewater. For moisturizers, I switch off between using Lancôme’s Energie de Vie and Natura Bisse’s Oxygen Cream. I love the Lancôme especially for long workdays, like on set or when we're traveling, because the ingredients are so great. The Natura Bisse is perfect for most days—it’s very light but super moisturizing. Plus it adds a little extra glow. Between that and the Nars tint, I don’t feel like I have too much on my face throughout the work day.

I wash my hair every other day using Kevin Murphy’s Hydrate Me Wash and Rinse. He infuses both with kakadu plums, which are known for having more vitamin C than any other fruit in the world. I love these products so much, especially given how much I’m out in the ocean. They totally revive my hair. I don’t usually blow dry or heat style my hair—the most I’ll do on a daily basis is use a few sprays of Kevin’s Hair Resort Spray. It just has a little honey, citrus, and tangerine that leaves my hair with a little texture.

My nails stay very simple. In my job, we're constantly moving clothes, shoes, racks, hangers, steamers, underpinnings, etc. around... using our hands a lot. I love keeping it simple with a light pink or nude nail for the most part—I love Essie's Private Weekend or OPI Squeaker of the House from the Kerry Washington collaboration. When I’m going fancy, I’ll usually apply a very dark Bordeaux color, like Chanel Rouge Noir. Unfortunately, manicures don’t hold up very long around in this line of work. I'll still get them to pamper myself. What I really use to relax are essential oils, and I have a ton from Doterra and Whole Body 365. I love the Breathe, On Guard, and Digestzen blends especially. They're the best way to stay calm and focused—the best holistic tool there is."
