"Hello! My name is Nadirah Ibrahim (@28petals), and I'm 25 years old. I live in sunny and humid Singapore and work as a marketing and communications executive for a fashion retail company called Pedder Group—but really, I'm a self-proclaimed homebody. I love my job, but I prefer to spend my time at home with my Kindle and a mask. Actually, my current favorite is Caudalie's Instant Detox Mask, which is great for purging impurities without stripping my skin dry. I have oily to combination skin, so I have to keep my skincare simple. The more I pile on, the more aggravated my skin gets, which usually ends in a breakout.

When I was 19, I started watching Lisa Eldridge's Youtube channel. Her first skincare routine video is what got me experimenting. Now, I'm religious about it. I cleanse twice daily, no matter if I’m out and about or just chilling at home. In the morning I wash with Glossier's Milky Jelly Cleanser, which my friends in the States ship to me, followed by Caudalie’s Moisturizing Toner. I'll use a serum like Aesop's Oil Free Facial Hydrating Serum along with Boscia’s Oil-Free Daily Hydration Moisturizer, and then most importantly SPF. At the moment I'm using Chanel UV Essentiel SPF 50.

At night I tone with Aesop's B and Tea Balancing Toner and moisturize with Boscia's Oil-Free Nightly Hydration and Tata Harper's Replenishing Nutrient Complex. That Nutrient Complex has been my holy grail for the past year, thanks to Caroline Hirons—it’s excellent for my skin type without being too heavy and my face has been looking so good ever since starting using it. My pores looked smaller and my skin felt smoother after months of use. If my skin needs something extra, I'll spritz on Caudalie's Beauty Elixir, which I adore. It has this amazing scent that invigorates my senses and instantly gives me the boost that I need. I've been using it for nearly two years and it makes my face look fresher and more radiant. Living in Singapore does not help my skin or hair—in addition to oily skin, I have a really oily scalp, and hair that's prone to frizz. My favorite shampoo of all time is Kérastase Bain Exfoliant Hydratant, and at the moment I'm trying out Ouai’s Smoothing Conditioner.

My makeup routine starts with NYX's Shine Killer Primer and a little Urban Decay's Naked Skin Concealer. To set that, I put on Bourjois Healthy Mix Powder—but only on my oily T-zone. For a natural flush, my favorite thing is Becca's Beach Tint in Watermelon, and Charlotte Tilbury's Amazing Grace Lipstick is THE my-lips-but-better shade. Fairydrops Scandal Queen Waterproof Mascara is the best waterproof mascara ever. It keeps my Asian lashes curled up all day long and it does not budge or smudge. I’ve tried lash perming and that went well, but I would really love to try lash extensions next. And last, my brows. Benefit’s Precisely My Brow Pencil in Deep is great for a bit of definition, I top that with Glossier’s Boy Brow in Black to make everything look fuller. My biggest and best beauty advice is to never shave or over-pluck my eyebrows. No matter what the trend is, it's best to leave them as they are."
