People talk a big game about preparing their feet for summer— pedicures, peels, foot facials, etc. That's all well and good—but isn't summer the season that's hardest on feet? Beautify your feet leading up to sandal-wearing, and also take into account these protective measures when you actually start wearing them. Several women who are often on their feet (and often in stylish-but-uncomfortable shoes) weigh in:

Dianna Lunt, Stylist : “I always keep a Dr. Scholl's Blister Defense Anti-Friction Stick around to avoid blisters from hard leather shoes and sandals. To keep my heels and bottoms of my feet nice and soft, I use a natural pumice stone in the shower and lather up my feet with Mustela Hydra Bebe Body Lotion and finish off with Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil, which I use on my whole body.”

Camille Becerra, Chef : “The first thing that comes to mind is never wear flip-flops outside in the city. It dries out your feet so much—not to mention it's so dirty. I love going to the beach and exfoliating my feet with sand. I also made a frankincense spray with essential oil and rosewater to spray on my feet. I like to think it grounds me and also gives feet—generally my most forgotten body part when pampering—some nourishment.”

Melissa Karl, Editor: “Preemptive Band-Aids! And bigger ones than you think—cover the whole area that might rub until your shoes are fully broken in. Though I think it's true what they say—some people just have better feet for shoes than others. People who don't get chewed up in the first place are blessed.”

Taea Thale, Photographer: “I really believe in a good insole! I've mastered hiding Dr. Scholl's DreamWalk Ball of Foot Cushions in all of my shoes that may rub or pinch. I also swear by ProFoot Care Callus Blaster—it keeps the dead skin away and leaves my feet soft and callus-free. And if a blister or rub appears, nothing helps heal faster than Neosporin and a Band-Aid.”

Ali Michael, Model: “To be honest, I try to avoid wearing heels in all seasons. [Laughs] I'm sure my agency would be horrified to find out that I've been wearing Air Max 95 sneakers to castings lately...”
