The designer's go-to makeup artist, Charlotte Tilbury, takes us behind-the-scenes of the hush-hush Fall 2013 show:
Dear ITG,
On Monday night, I did the makeup for Mr. Ford’s spectacular AW '13 womenswear show. It was such an incredible moment: the venue, the clothes, the girls, and the show were breath-taking. It wasn't easy, but I took some backstage pictures from behind-the-scenes for you all. We used many of the Tom Ford beauty products to create a striking brow and eye-focused look—it was inspired by the original Tom Ford girl and the gorgeous Carine Roitfeld! We started with the darker 'contour' shade from the Shade & Illuminate palette to create definition around the eyes. Using a brush, we applied the color onto the girls' lids and underneath the eye, and then used a coffee-colored pencil for further definition. (For darker skin tones, we used a darker contour shade and a black liner pencil.) And just before the girls went onto the runway, we applied a clear gloss to the lids and underneath the eyes to create a glossy, wet look that would catch the light as the girls walked. Anyway, I have more info about the look on my blog. Come visit!
I hope you enjoy the pics.
xx
