At noon today, Prada very kindly live-streamed their spring 2013 show for all the non-industry, fashion-obsessed world to see. At ITG, we had our eyes glued to our screens for those twelve minutes, because, really, isn't it one of the most “important' collections, in terms of trends/influence? (Top 5: Marc, Prada, Balenciaga, Celine, Givenchy... do you agree? We had a debate.) “Ah, '60s! Marc called it,” someone clapped as the whole thing kicked off: no pants, clean lines, and nearly identical (except for color) rough-and-tumble, Edie-esque short wigs. There were flatforms with socks, lots of black satin, a vaguely Asian, digitalized floral print, a whole bunch of new faces, and one Miss Jessica Stam sporting next season's inevitable 'It' glasses. “I'm obsessed with the eyewear,” she emailed from her Milan hotel room, post-show. And what of the hair and makeup? “The hair was tomboyish to offset the feminine clothing, as per Miuccia's request,” Stam, a Prada regular, explained, attaching her iPhone snaps, “and the makeup was an overdrawn, bold red lip with natural glowing skin,” If this is anything to go by—and let's take a moment to acknowledge the ripple effect of last season's dip-dye, sleekly straight hair—then we're placing bets on a 'classic red lip' and 'boyish cut' being beauty-message numero uno next spring...offset, of course, by some serious shades. [Update : Stam's bold red lip is CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Hot.]
