Lately it seems like there’s an argument to be made for a combination of cute and crass (Azealia Banks, we’re looking at you). Today, we were minding our own business, taking a break from running around Fashion Week and surfing the internet when we spotted Lyle Lodwick (‘model’) on The Cut’s New York Fashion Week Street Style diary. So cool, in that Kurt Cobain, not trying-trying way. There's so much good stuff going on in this pic—yellow bleached tips, a REAL safety-pin earring, etc—but that happy-face middle finger? It stopped us dead in our tracks.

So, Nick set about trying it out, with the help of our multitalented assistant/in-house nail wiz Elizabeth, plus [pic 3; L to R]: Jin Soon Power Coat, Duane Reade’s Prevail Nail Lacquer in Taxi! Taxi!(not near a DR? Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Lightening will work), Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in Black, and Essie's aptly titled Man-e-cure matte top coat for...men.

The results? Judge for yourself, but we think that’s one badass man-finger.
