Perfume preferences are highly subjective, and there are so many fancy decanted things out there at this point that it's hard to suggest just a couple. But we can give you a few places to start your search—it feels more special to discover a scent on your own, anyway. Jo Malone's scent library is a great jumping-off point because her fragrances are so wearable and she has a variety of note combinations on offer. Lime Basil and Mandarin is a crowd pleaser, especially if you like citrus, but she makes soft, polished florals, too (give English Pear and Freesia a sniff if flower/fruit combinations are your favorite).
Cool girls (and guys) also love Byredo—their scents are modern, a little off kilter, and always gorgeous. We have yet to meet anyone who doesn't like Accord Oud, which is woodsy, fresh, unisex, and completely different from anything else out there.
If fragrance minimalism is more your thing, Diptyque makes an entire line of lovely, restrained scents. Eau Rose and L’Ombre dans L’Eau are both excellent choices, and their solid perfume versions are standouts as well.
Happy hunting!
