'I found Vesna nail salon last season in Paris. This time I went in to get a gel manicure, which literally lasts month. My nails were short and chipped and I needed something that would sustain—during fashion week you don't have time to run to nail salons and I don't have the skill or patience to do them myself. And Vesna is right around the corner from my apartment in the Marais so it works out great! I picked a few colors I loved and Katarina decided we should something cool like a dégradé. She picked a moss green and a turquoise and blended them at the tips. It took about an hour, including two extensions for nails that were too short. The result is this kind of iridescent, coral reef nail...it reminds me of the Versace Spring 2012 show for some reason. But it works really well with the Peter Pilotto outfit I chose to wear today—the fur bib he made has the same kind of parrot color scheme. The lip color is NARS Dragon Girl Velvet Matte pencil. Glasses are Tom Ford, jacket is vintage, bag is Corto Moltedo. Actually, those nails are insane with the bag. The bag catches the color of the nail, like a chameleon!”

As you may recall, Natalie is a casting agent and author of the blog Tales of Endearment . She was also my roommate for the first half of Paris Fashion Week. Thanks for fixing the coffee machine, Nat. Or should I say, plugging it in...
