Is Pink The New…

Pink Hair

Adding on to my fantasy wish-list of beauty experiments for summer: pink tinged hair. (Also on the list is Vanessa Traina's ear piercing, below). Yes, it's been a trend on the runway, but lately I've spied real girls who dip-dye with aplomb—like this jeune fille in Paris. When the hue is applied like highlights, just at the tips, it's more of a temporary accent than an overall commitment à la Charlotte Free, not to mention being much gentler on your hair. Particularly brave blondes could attempt this at home, but for us brunettes out there, the sections need to be lightened before the color is applied. I'll leave that—and piercings—to the pros.

I really love this look. Girls on Tumblr have been doing some awesome/wild things with unconventional colors like lavender.

I love too much my black hair but, this is still a beautiful picture!

you can try coloured spray as well, for carnival or occasions like that. so you can have all the fun but it only lasts till the next time you wash your hair! perfects for brunettes.

god, I wish I had the nerve to pull this off :D

I've never dyed my hair in my life, but when I lived in Italy I seriously lusted after the ink-dipped tips all the Italian girls were sporting...
I'm scared, but if you do it, I will! :-)

Reactions vary, but when you wear it with a smile, people seem to accept it a little better.

I agree with Ashley, it depends on your style and how you carry yourself! I think it would be fun to try for a week or so...

I love this look but I have not tried for fear of over drying my hair...maybe with a made for halloween hair spray paint but they tend to have glitter which would ruin the effect.

what a style! it has been appearing almost everywhere lately. many girls (and boys) at my school are into the hair colored trend. many dip-dye their hair crazy colors, some dye the inside portion on the bottom of their head, and some even dye their entire heads wild colors! though this trend is fun to look at, i don't think i would try it out for myself! au natural is the way for me...

It's me! Sadly the pink has been replaced by ombre blonde and I miss my raspberry tips. Will be bringing them back before long I'm sure!

try colored extensions...vivid color, less committment and no damage to natural hair.

I've wanted to try pink since Gwen Stefani did pink in 1999...but now I have an office job and I think I might be too old to try :(

  • AmandaC

I am in love with this look! But I'm not sure if a blondie like me could pull off the pink colour..
