“My name is Kamie Crawford (@therealkamie) and I’m from Potomac, Maryland—but I currently live in New York City. I’m an on-air host and I also model, so my job looks different every day… Sometimes I’m on set from 8AM to 5PM, and other days I’m waking up at 5AM to prep for a local news beauty segment. When I have free time, I’m curled up on my couch watching a movie, drinking wine and eating Chinese food, alone or with my girls. Add face masks and a cold glass of Sancerre to that and you have my perfect night.

I’m also a former Miss Teen USA—some of my pageant tricks have stayed with me. My best-kept secret is to use Preparation H under your eyes to decrease puffiness and inflammation in the morning. You can also put it all over your legs and sleep in yoga pants for tight, taut skin if you want a quick fix before a day at the beach. I’ve actually learned a lot of beauty tips throughout my career... Every makeup artist I’ve ever worked with on a set has taught me something, whether it be a new lipstick to try to a different application technique. Lately I’ve seen a lot of people using silicone applicators for foundation and am really curious if it works better than a Beautyblender—but I have my doubts.

My lips have to be moisturized at all times of day. I love Glossier’s Cherry Balm Dotcom when I want a little color and a lot of moisture, plus I keep Aquaphor on me at all times. One of my go-to lip colors is Nyx's Soft Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabi—I love that it’s so affordable and goes on beautifully without getting too dry like most mattes. It’s like the perfect, universal nude.

For skincare, I start and end every day with Mario Badescu Rosewater Spray—it’s literally my life. It makes my skin feel so fresh and it just revives me, plus it’s great for sensitive skin like mine. I’m also obsessed with face oils. My favorites are Farsali’s Rose Gold Elixir and Sunday Riley’s UFO Oil. I swear they’re magic. The Farsali makes my skin glow and the Sunday Riley clears up my blemishes and imperfections literally overnight. That’s my low maintenance look—face oil, lip balm, and a little brow gel from Anastasia.

Good makeup starts with a good base. You have to take care of your skin if you want makeup to go on seamlessly. That means making sure you’re moisturizing it and giving it what it needs. I drink lots of water, exfoliate my skin three times a week using Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Stress Control Scrub, and then I’ll do a clarifying mask like Dermadoctor’s Kakadu C Amethyst Clay Detox. I’ll then go in with Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentre or Weleda Skin Food if my skin is dry. That’s really the best advice of all—take care of your skin, and it’ll be good to you.”
