So here's the thing: I'm Jewish, so the whole Advent calendar thing has always been a little opaque to me. (I assume it has something to do with Christmas, as everything 'holiday' related intrinsically does.) But I do know one thing about advent calendars: You don't have to understand them to love them. Not the Diptyque one, not the Love Magazine one, and no, not even the Susanne Kaufmann one—which is really just a beautifully austere collection of miniature favorites from the organic Austrian line. That includes favorites like her St. John's Wort Bath (get over the name and just trust me here—it's your special occasion, epsom salt alternative), rose oil with actual roses in it, immunity tea, and 21 other treats to get you from today until Christmas (and Hanukkah this year—how convenient!). It won't take you long to work your way through them all, but don't fret: Once they're used up, the tiny vials make for great travel packs. Save yourself the trip to Muji and refill these empties instead! A gift that keeps on giving, indeed.

Or, for slightly less money, gift you and yours a candle. Maybe one of these?
