Why Are People Afraid Of Lip Gloss?

There are two types of people in the world: People who can recount their lives in tubes of lip gloss and people who cannot. Save for a few staunch supporters, this office is not super hot on the lip gloss train. I say this staring into our beauty closet, where there is an overflowing bin of lip glosses no one ever touches. People keep sending them to us, though, and into the bin they keep going.

As for myself, I've never been much of a gloss fan, either—even as a tween. There are just too many “issues' with it. How do you wear lip gloss and still:

  • Drink out of a glass?
  • Eat a sandwich?
  • Walk around when it's windy?
  • Kiss?

I'll stick with my velvet mattes, thank you very much.

Of course, if you're a regular reader, you'll know that the YSL Tint-In-Oil collection took the office by storm, and now I find myself reapplying at will—and enjoying it. I've also started playing around with Dior's Dior Addict Lip Maximizer High Volume Lip Plumper, which is essentially lip gloss that stings. Unclear if it's really maximizing much, but I haven't hit Day 15 yet (that's when it's supposed to kick in), so here's hoping.

In the meantime, please tell me: What are your thoughts on lip gloss? Is there any way to have your hair not stick to it? I'm a novice, so send help.
