First, it was Gisele in a buzz cut. This season, Alexander Wang has added sideburns to the list of Balenciaga's Hair Ideas For The Daring (not wholly surprising, given the show last March). Sure, on the surface, sporting sideburns seems like one of those styles you're only going to attempt if you're either Lara Stone or Kate Moss, and you're in the hands of one Anthony Turner. But as history shows: What Wang says usually goes. At least there's no denying that the 'burns do an excellent job of accentuating the already-razor-sharp cheekbones taking over the ad. While facial hair as a tool for contouring is still fresh, it might be time to consider—are sideburns the new full brows? Ambrose Burnside, style icon? Only Instagram will tell.
