There are two things people shop for when it comes to shampoo: promised hair texture or promised color enhancement. Blondes, to generalize for a moment, are often concerned with the latter—and not without good reason. Of all the colors, it's probably the most sought after (and easy to get wrong). And because it's so light, imperfections can be glaring. For a few opinions on the matter, we turned to the archives. Blondes of note have weighed in over the years, and how can you say no to their recommendations when they're at such low prices?! Annotations in the comment section required encouraged.

Gigi Hadid The classic, the OG, the John Frieda line: “I’ve always used John Frieda; their blonde stuff is really good. The Sheer Blonde Everlasting Blonde Shampoo makes my hair really soft, but I’m not sure that it actually makes it blonder.” Also of note: The relaunched Beach Blonde line—perfect for summer ascending.

Olivia Kim

While not blond anymore, Olivia was a triple-process for multiple years (so, she knows). “There's this amazing shampoo called Shimmer Lights.” she said back when she was still blond, referencing the Clairol purple standby. “[It's] for people with silver hair—its purple shampoo.” and you can get it at beauty supply stores or Ricky's.

Katie Nehra

'I really like this Rene Furterer Okara Mild Silver Shampoo. I hate orangey-blonde hair, and this shampoo is purple, so it counteracts that.” (Valid argument: This one isn't quite drugstore, but they sell it in French pharms and fancier Duane Reades, so the judges will allow it.)

Meredith Melling

The recent Top Shelf feature stands by Pantene of all sorts. “I love Pantene. Sometimes I have Color Preserve, sometimes I have Daily Moisture Renewal, but it doesn't really matter. They’re just labels.” A pretty healthy way to approach life in general, too, we'd say.
