Dear ITG,

Since we last saw each other, I got married! My now-husband, Lias, was in New York with his band Fat White Family playing David Letterman and we just decided to do it, which led to me going on tour with him and the band immediately after. I play bass and have been traveling around with different bands since I was 17 years old, so the act of touring isn't new to me, but I took this opportunity to bring along my Contax T2 35mm camera to document the trip a little bit more cinematically than usual. It's not quite a classic honeymoon, but that doesn't mean it wasn't the perfect way to spend the beginning of married life.

We started off at Austin Psych Fest, which had an amazing line up this year— 13th Floor Elevators, Spiritualized, and The Flaming Lips to name a few. After the festival, we traveled west to Tucson, where they played Hotel Congress. I’ve actually played here before with my old band. The hotel is one of my favorites to stay in. It has a 1920s Southwestern vibe and is supposedly haunted. It’s also where they caught bank robber John Dillinger, who was using the hotel as a hideout in 1934! You can definitely feel some crazy energy when you’re there. Then we continued to the next tour stops in San Diego and LA, which were both crazy fun. When it was all over, I needed a week of detoxing and a good facial. Let's be real—all this traveling and drinking can be hard on your skin and body. Luckily, having gone through the hoops before, I knew exactly what to fill my suitcase with. Take note: This suitcase will be a Godsend when touring with a bunch of guys.

Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes : These wipes keep your skin feeling fresh and smells so good you almost wanna eat it!

Goldies Juniper Argan Makeup Remover : This is great to get all that makeup off at the end of a long night of dancing around and getting sweaty.

Philosophy Hope in a Jar : It'll quickly become your eyes' best friend. It keeps the puffiness down and the dark circles away.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion : Zaps and dries out those zits before they even come to a head.

Kypris Antioxidant Dew : Can't sing its praises enough—it keeps my face moisturized and fresh. I follow that with their Beauty Elixir I - 1,000 Roses, aptly named for the essential oils of 1,000 organic Bulgarian roses used in its formula. It smells like heaven.

Lulu Organics Hair Powder : This hair powder will keep your hair looking clean, even though you really didn’t have time to wash it this morning.

Stem Cell Beauty Innovations Superba Stem Cell Face Mask : Perfect for van life because when you take it off, there's no need to wash your face! Simply massage the serum into your face and neck.

Morgan Lane Starry Eyed Sleeping Mask : For when you’re in the van and you need to nap during those long drives, this mask is soft silk charmeuse with special padding inside for extra comfort. No light gets through this baby!

At the end of this tour, I'm going back to England with him and spending the summer over there. I'll continue DJing, he'll continue playing music, only now we're together.

xxAlix
