The great thing about Fashion Week makeup is that you can mix and match what appeals to you from different shows. One undeniably attractive, go-with-everything feature were those big, bright eyes walking at show after show throughout the week (and year after year—models tend to look that way). The difference this year (particularly at Thakoon, Phillip Lim, and Donna Karan) was the noticeable lack of smoke in the eyes that denotes something a little more nighttime, a little more sexy. It’s got us trading in our black kohl sticks for white pencils and returning to that eye-enhancing method of waterlining—this time for larger eyes instead of a sultry, smoky squint. It’s pretty easy: Swipe a white or creamy peach pencil— Charlotte Tilbury's Rock 'N' Kohl Liquid Eye Pencil in Eye Cheat is a great one—along the inner line of your lower eyelid (i.e. the waterline). You can pull your lower lid down a little, so as not to poke your actual eye while you’re lining. For extra credit, trace the inner corner of each eye in the same light color, or something shimmery for an even more refreshed glow. It's like that late night or five-hour flight never even happened. Welcome to the bright side.
