While things like the 1969 moon landing and the existence of chupacabras are still up for debate, at this point it's common knowledge that "no-makeup makeup" is a farce. BB cream straddles the line, but...it's makeup. Let's call a spade a spade and reintroduce "natural" into its rightful place in our makeup-describing lexicons.

No-hair-product hair, though, is an actual thing. Exhibit A: Marina Nery. "I do absolutely nothing to my hair," she says, "I just wash it and let it dry naturally. I don't tie it before sleeping—nothing. It's happier that way." And how's that for an easy tutorial? Definitely worth exploring for those who skew low-maintenance but only insofar that it helps balance the time spent on a good blended shadow job and maybe a blood orange metallic lip. (Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Manhunter, which just dropped online today.)

"... good blended shadow job..." wouldn't mind to know which shadow you used there ;-)

    Lip Tar sounds way weird
but a bed head, tousled 'do
    always makes my day.

  • Bonnie Garner

    Stunning!!!

  • conni boykins

Oops. I accidentally spent money on this lip color.

  • m.m.

what's the eyeshadow used here? looks great

  • Mady

    great hair

  • Alice

    What's the eyeliner and blush/bronzer?

    • Allie

      Hey Alice!

No eyeliner, just the nars Dual Intesity Shadows. For cheeks, I used Tom Ford shade and illuminate (supppper expensive but so versatile!) and I want to say douceur blush from Nars but can't remember ;)

      Thanks,a

The lip tar is making me crazy....it's so beautiful. Such a ravishing color.

Doing nothing is the best hair styling routine in my opinion. My hair is healthy, takes no effort, time or money, hair is more voluminous and messy.

    • Alyson

Consider yourself lucky (and I don't mean that in a snarky way at all). I would love to do absolutely nothing to my hair and get away with it, but my head full of massive curls that begin to frizz five minutes after the shower just won't allow it!

      • JY

How often do you wash it? What is your curl pattern?

      • Blobby

Exactly, same for me! It's not easy to go natural when your hair does not collaborate. Curls look awesome, if you have thick and abundant hair, otherwise they don't look good. Especially if it's short, longer hair gets heavier and looks better. I need to blow dry it or flat iron my hair, or parts of it, in order to make it look presentable and healthier (contradictory but true). I use heat protectors and antifrizz products too.

Try some of the Living Proof anti-frizz shampoo/conditioner. I have fallen in love. You can get minis at Nordstrom.

  • Cecilia

You gotta spill the deets about what nail polish she is using!

  • Bella

Another member of the Do Nothing School of Hairstyling here. Just getting on with the rest of my life while waiting for it to grow LOL.

    • eastvillagesiren

Me too! Your hair looks lovely in your photo.

      • Bella

        Thank you :).

  • Alyson

I actually don't believe for a second that she does absolutely nothing to her hair. It looks to me like she's had some sort of relaxing treatment due to the contrast between her curly/slightly kinky roots and the smoothness of the length. I have very curly hair that I have "relaxed" with the Pravana Perfection treatment, and this is exactly the way my hair starts to look after a couple of months. Perhaps she does nothing on a day-to-day basis but gets a treatment every few months. That's my guess.

    • Bella

You are right, her hair looks a lot more natural here:

      • Blobby

right! that's exactly what I was talking about in another comment, see how her hair in that picture looks like too light and thin and here it looks more wavy than curly and heavier, hence healthier.

This girl looks gorgeous--those eyes! The eyeshadow is top notch and those lips...

    • Blobby

Yes! She has a little something of Rihanna in her, and when you're that pretty, I guess curls, straigth, bold, everything looks good on you.

Now I will have Hall and Oates stuck in my head all day! Lovely shots!

  • May

What is her hair colour? How does she get it done?
