At some point, razor companies must have realized that shaving one's legs is a horrendous chore that no one actually wants to do and thought, "Ladies love John Stamos. Ladies will shave for John Stamos." In that they are probably correct. But it's 2014, times have changed! Now apparently the only thing that John Stamos can get women to do is eat Greek yogurt.

    I loathe leg shaving
    and even a sexy star
    could not convince me.

Shaving was in fact "invented" as a thing for women after World War I when the razor factories didn't know to whom to sell anymore. So they found themselves a new market by telling the ladies their underarm hair was unsightly. Leg shaving ensued after WWII.

Shaving my legs is kinda therapeutic to me because in my home state of Wisconsin, we don't have many days of summer. So I take the time to do it and avoid waxing or nair.

"...the only *thing that John Stamos..."
Sorry, editor here. I had to.

The thing that's available in powder form to remove hair really, really disturbs me. I imagine something like quicklime.

Remove unsightly leg hair, dispose of a body - now that's multitasking!

I think these are the worst pictures of John Stamos I've ever seen!

Not a lot of people can afford laser hair removal, I would love to but till then the ITG post on doing your own bikini wax is really helpful! I know it's natural but underarm and leg hair IS unsightly, I'm surprised it took them until recently to find real solutions for female body hair.

My best friend in middle school accidentally PERMANENTLY naired off her arm hair. Still to this day it never grew back.

    • Ania

I want to know how she did that hahah

She left it on waaay longer than the recommended time. You know, to get ALL the hairs.

When I was 12 I bleached the hair above my lip and burned myself enough to leave a mark. True story.

Dearest ITG Reader,

We're working on something new called Glossier. It's launching soon(!) and we want you to be the first to know updates.
