A brief and probably incomplete history of eyeliner: burnt almond shells, squid ink (maybe?), loose kohl powder, pencil, wet powder and brush, gel and brush, liquid... It suffices to say that liner's been around for thousands of years and we see an innovation every, say, 50-ish years. So we've been recently stuck with the liquid or potted stuff and told to fend for ourselves, that is, until Benefit sent over the brand's new “They're Real! Push-Up Liner'—a twist-up pen with a soft rubberized slanted applicator tip that dispenses stay-til-you-want-it-gone matte gel liner. No brush, no sharpener, no Scotch-Tape-guides-at-the-edges-of-your-eyes needed. It's so easy it practically applies itself.

It doesn't hit stores till June 27th, but you can sign up to get yours early on their digital wait list. We recommend it. As we've been saying around the office for the last couple of weeks: It's a game changer.
