Oh I miss my braces so much!!! They're better than wearing retainers IMO. My bf says I have a face made for braces. Then again he has a self-proclaimed fetish for girls with braces...

Is been a hard year with my braces.... these pictures are very cute!

Thanks for posting this. I'm in my mid twenties and scheduled to get braces for the first time this summer. Aw yeah, adult braces.

yessss I need them as well…so hard to make the decision to have them as an adult, been postponing for years, and it only got worse :/

  • Dee

How did you read my mind? I'm getting my braces on next week and am not looking forward to looking 14.

  • Guest

mmm I needed this, as an adult with braces (I am 24), I've been self-conscious about them. But only a few months left, and they're gone. If you're an adult and thinking about getting braces, take the plunge, it is totally worth it.

Totally agree. I am 38 and got mine 4 months ago. Felt weird, but now I got used to them - especially because the effect after only four months is amazing. Anyway, I will have to wear them another 14 months - but am really looking forward to finally being able to put on a bright red lipstick when turning 40 ;-)

needed this! 17 years old with braces, gonna remove them god willing by june because of my high school graduation. currently they are driving me CRAZY.

  • Kattttt

I had braces for years, and might end up needing them again. Though hopefully never again with upper- and lower mouth connected by tiny tight elastics + a new 5 mm gap between the front teeth + an expansion of the upper mouth with the potential to end up as a cranial fracture. All while looking normal-thirteen instead of Lolita-ish or cute in any way. That was HORRENDOUS. Actual torture.

Ahhhh, ITG needs to make a post about wisdom teeth (supposedly old Hollywood stars like Marlene Dietrich had theirs taken out to accentuate their cheekbones!) I have to have all four of my suckers out because they've decided to start pressing against my teeth and hurt! I thought I could get away with keeping them too, I'm 25 and no one in my family has problems with theirs!

    • charmystique

I had mine taken out because I have a tiny jaw, and they were pushing my teeth out of place. ): Never knew taking them out could help accentuate cheekbones!

I had braces for 3 years and although I was SO happy the day they went off, I have to admit I looked really good with those trainrails in my mouth :-)

  • Jackie @ Kleiden drew

Though I've practically always needed braces, I never got them just to be independent. By looking at the pics, I know I missed out. Never too late. :)

  • Tracy

    I miss them!
