Was it Lipglass? Eight Hour Cream? Vaseline? L.A. Looks Absolute Styling Wet-Look Slicking Gel, X-treme Hold? Or is it something with a faint hint of golden shimmer slicking Emily DiDonato's brows in February Vogue Paris? (An homage to Dior?) The credits list only Maybelline foundation, blush, shadows, and mascara—none of which make sense for creating such glistening brows. Although, are brows technically considered hair? (Any insight is appreciated, this is an ongoing debate at the Gloffice.)

Emmanuelle Alt is somewhere in Paris lunching on tartare de poissons and Cinsault, laughing to herself as women everywhere collectively smear gelatinous, sparkly goop across their brow bones.

I LOVE the glossy brow look, I do it all the time with minimal eye makeup and a pop color lip! I use Rosebud Salve currently. For something longer lasting use a traditional clear gloss. I do thing because clear mascara often flakes off!

When I use coconut oil I love the shine it gives to my eyebrows and lashes!

it's definitely maybelline clear mascara! that's what i always use as well and it has that shine effect at first if you put a lot on but will fade fairly soon after.

I can't wait to try this out! I have mastered getting my white eyebrows a little darker, but now they can glisten!! http://behindthemirrorbeauty.com/2014/01/22/winter-white-eyebrows/

this is an editorial with a model. hard to copy in real life. i think it would be a bit try-hard to see someone in the living flesh in new york city with vaseline in their eyebrows unless you are creative director of opening ceremony. just saying, if your friends found out you put vaseline in your eyebrows, wouldn't they laugh? maybe just a little bit to highlight the natural brow bone, but to get this glistening look you'd have to put on a lot. just saying. natural is best!

  • lesautrui

castor oil! bonus: it'll help them grow too.

OH.MY.GOD. I've been trying to find a way to do a glossy brow forever, it looks so 'healthy.' Like, "of course my eyebrows are shiny! My hair is so naturally shiny I just cant help it!" For some reason this is the first article i've seen that's ever addresed it (and trust me I've been looking). Oils just rub off my brow pencil, so I'll definitely be trying some of your recommendations.

How are you guys always so spot on?!

  • Isabel

My guess is Anastasia tinted brow gel in Brunette. Its slightly sparkly, and a bit too light for Emily DiDonato (I'm guessing), so it would give that effect

Wow that cover shot is so so '80s, just with the way she's posed and the composition of the shot etc.

  • Dani

Aquaphor, evoo, coconut oil, etc. I love them all!
