    nivea essential lip care!!!!

Aquaphor. I know it's a bunch of petroleum byproducts, but when you find true love, you just have to accept your soulmate for who they are.

    • http://genuineglow.com/ Lilly

Hey Lacey, did you try Waxelene? If not, do it! ;)

      • audrey

I love love love aquaphor, and wanted to be a good citizen by making the switch, but alas it didnt perform as well as my tried and true aquaphor...

        • cait

Waxelene is nice, but just not as great as Aquaphor, my reliable nighttime standby for flakey lips, dry cuticles and chapped nostrils.

    • Lana

I wish I liked Aquaphor! I have so much of it for now apparent reason. I do know that whenever I use it, my lips feel more dehydrated than they did before I put it on :(

    • shoumi

i wanted to love aquaphor but it numbs my lips

  • Annie B

Good old fashioned Vitamin E ointment. Slather that stuff on your lips at night and your lips are so smooth and hydrated in the morning. I keep a jar at my desk too. Plus, it's all natural and is good for any super dry spots you might have.

  • Juicy Tux

nutritic lèvres by La Roche Posay

    • suzana v.

      very good one

  • JasmineCara

Nuxe Reve de Miel is my saviour!

    http://jasminecara.blogspot.fr/

    • Amanda Raponi
      • http://pocketfulofmakeup.blogspot.com/ Marie

        It's mine too!

    • Natalia Kvitek

Totally the best. The only thing that keeps my lips from continually cracking during the winter.

    • Elizabeth Milligan

Agreed! Lives on my bedside table - not the cheapest, but totally worth it. Smells divine.

      • SaraInTheCalicoDress

I have to admit, when I bought Reve de Miel last time I was in France, I was so excited. But now I can't wait to get through it so that I can buy something else. It doesn't do much for keeping my lips hydrated. Jack Black and Aveda Lip Saver are still the best I have ever used.

    • Vanessa

      For sure!

    • Katy

Yesssssss! I always put some on before bed (hello Chicago winters, you are the absolute worst) and my lips are always so moisturized. I actually just ran out last week and my poor little pout has been suffering since.

    • aya

It is really good. But only the pot version. The stick version isn't that mosturizing

    • shoumi

this - it's really the best

    • Alex

Unfortunately my lips are allergic to Nuxe Reve de Miel. Disappointed since i've seen a lot of good reviews and spent $$$ on it.
My favorite is Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream now x

  • Christina Orlando

My favourite is Soap & Glory's A Great Kisser. It's affordable and comes in three flavours that are all amazing.

  • http://crisduh.wordpress.com/ crisduh

I stole my boyfriend's Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm and refuse to give it back. I like the Natural Mint, but I'm sure the others are just as awesome. http://www.sephora.com/intense-therapy-lip-balm-spf-25-P12573

    • Kelly

      Also obsessed with this!

  • Kim

Vaseline rosy lips (with rose and almond oil). Smells lovely & cheap!

  • Isabel

Vaseline works the best! But I also love Palmer's cocoa butter stick, Elemental Herbs All Good Lips, and Kiehl's lip balm.

    • pemora

i LOVE the baby tubs of vaseline w/ cocoa butter. so amazing!

  • http://myfakeyelashes.tumblr.com/ Kara Nesvig

The best ever is Malin & Goetz lip moisturizer. Trust me on this one.

    • sybar1te

yes yes yes! I agree 100%

  • Daisy

RMS BEAUTY lip and skin balm http://www.rmsbeauty.com/shop/product6.html

  • Amanda

Hands down, Weleda Everon is the best I've found.

    • lou B

It really is THE BEST. Doesn't have a weird after taste and actually keeps your lips moisturised for hours and not just 5 minutes after application.

    • Olivia

Agreed x100. I love the fragrance, long lasting, natural looking and it just works incredibly well. Awesome as a lipstick prep too. Not too greasy!

      • Julie

Agreed! Best lip balm ever, keep coming back to it after trying others. A close second place would be badger balm lip balms...lots of good flavors and no freaky ingredients to worry about.

        • KB

Truly, Weleda makes the best. Lasts forever (on your lips and in the tube), subtle feminine scent. I share it with my man since it is not shiny or gloppy - he loves it. Just super simple and effective. And it comes in a tube, which is great when you don't want to be dipping your germ-y fingertips into a pot of balm.

  • georgia gee

    Rosebud!

    • Old_Woman_Josie

But who or what is Rosebud?

  • Lauren

Nivea's A Kiss of Milk and Honey...not slick, super moisturizing, and subtle scent.

  • bubbleK

Apivita Lip Care with honey, Korres Wild Rose Lip Butter and L'Occitane Shea Butter Rose Petals Lip Balm.

    • Patty Santos

I really want to try the Apivita line, everything looks so beautiful and organic

      • bubbleK

I've tried almost everything on the Apivita range and the best are lip balms, express masks, Aqua Vita line and natural oils. Hands down.

  • Josef Šlaich

As a beauty editor I tried tons of lipbalms but Tatcha's Camellia Nourishing Lip Balm is my gold discovery. It smells so fresh and luxurious, lasts forever on my lips and looks super matte.Plus that extra luxurious feeling when you are applying that silky balm with added 24-karat gold leaf? Just perfect.

    • Sharon Macklin

Love it - I use it at night, and I still feel it in the morning. Fabulous!

  • njanisch

I have sooo many lip balms and chapsticks, but I still always go back to Aquaphor!

  • sydneyk

Carmex!!! And the Kiehls lip balm

  • Cinamaron

Nivea Lip Butter! I just wish it didn't come in a little tin. I hate applying things with my fingers!

  • http://intothegloss.com/ ITG Annie

A friend gave me a homemade Chapstick-style twist-up tube of coconut oil lip balm. It's a really soft solid- it just melts on, but really stays put. It's like a lip mask, I put it on before bed and I can still feel it on my lips when I wake up in the morning. I'll have to ask her for the recipe!

  • Colleen

    The mini Vaseline lip treatments!

    • Lauren

Omg I am slightly obsessed with their teeny tiny tubs - I have like three I can't bear to use - ridic cute!

      http://www.luxelist.me

  • Lauren

If I were to be stranded on a desert island, the first thing I'd bring would be a tube of Lucas' Papaw Ointment. I've tried dozens of lip products and have yet to find anything I like nearly as much.

    • Vhilt

      I so agree with you!

    • Shara

      +1

I was skeptical due to all the hype but once I tried it, I was like "Yep. Worth it."

    • kashbot

Yep, superlative. There's not even any contest in my mind.

  • Kaysibee

Jouer enhancing lip conditioner. Or Lucas paw paw ointment

    • sharon

i agree , Jouer is great!

  • Wonderlusting

Nivea lip butter is my lip balm jam

  • Wonderlusting

Nivea lip butter is my lip balm jam. It sinks into the lips rather than just sitting on top making keeping them soft and smoochable with zero cornflake stuck on lip feel. Also doesn't require constant reapplication - 3 times a day - morning, around lunch and before bed and I'm done.

  • Nikki

    carmex!

  • Laura Mitchell

    La Mer

  • http://eldyspocket.com/ Liz

bite beauty's agave lip mask is the ONLY product that has saved my lips this winter. i finally have normal feeling/looking lips after being chapped for over a month!

  • http://frivolousgirl.com/ Isabel

Anything natural without castor oil and beeswax. Hurraw and EOS are great.

  • Jaclyn

    Malin & Goetz lip moisturizer

  • Lydia Ding

My go to is Smith's Minted Rose lip balm. Ugh that stuff is SO GOOD, and it also works as cuticle softener/moisturizer as well. HOLY GRAIL.

    • http://www.reeftraveler.com/ Meredith

+1 for the Minted Rose tin.

      Also,
Labello (love the original and the rose)
      EOS
      Blistex Moisture Melt

  • Suzana

It´s expensive but the La Mer lip balm is really the best!

  • Haley Bott

I have 2: Nanak's Lip Smoothie in Coconut makes me feel like I'm back on the beach, and it has SPF 15 which is fantastic. Dr Hauschka lip balm (in the pot) smells fantastic and isn't excessively heavy, but feels super silky on my lips and makes them look hella plump and healthy.

  • ritu

Dr. Hauschka, which comes in a pot or a stick; I prefer the stick as it's easier to carry around. It gets the job done, with regard to protection and moisturization. I like its mild rose scent/flavor, and that it isn't too shiny.

  • Kerry Lee

Lush lip service or honey trap. It's under 6 pounds, and actually does what it says. Lip balms tend to slide off and as a result the bottom of my lips becomes oily easily, but lush ones gets absorbed into my lips and softens them - in high speed too, quick enough for my lip tint to glide on beautifully after I've done my eye makeup.

  • IntoTheGloss

...ONE favorite???! Hmmm... Gonna go with Homeoplasmine. I think my lips are addicted. Is that such a thing, btw? Or just urban legend? xE

  • S.

elizabeth arden 8 hour creme, nivea, kiehl´s always good.
    thumbs down for carmex

  • britt

    NUXE Reve de Miel!!!

  • Aparnaa

Jack Black is really good. So is Kiehls. I have really really REALLY chapped lips, like mainline Vaseline from the British tins chapped, and those are the only ones that keep my lips sane.

  • Jenny W

Nivea lip balm or the fresh lip balms. I like their original scent as opposed to all the different colors and scents they have now.

  • joannanyc

Stewart & Claire Bare or Nivea A Kiss of Smoothness (just like Labello for all you Europhiles) during the day, Aquaphor at night.

  • mbw

    Caudalie Lip Conditioner!

  • hollygoeslightly22

Rosebud before bedtime because it's great to have on your dresser and not in your purse where there's potential for spillage. Burt's Bees makes a nourishing lip balm that is great in the winter. Also, Fresh sugar lip treatment feels good, keeps lips hydrated, and has SPF. Comes in tinted colors in case you need a pop of color during the winter blah months.

  • wschuu

I want to tell you it's something cheap and quirky, but for me it just isn't. It's Dior Addict Lip Glow. I have chronically irritated & dry lips that are prone to flaking (I know, eew. But that means you should listen to me). I have tried EVERYTHING, including diet changes and quitting lip balms all together. The Dior balm totally eliminates my flakiness within hours, and it stays on for hours at a time. I usually only apply twice a day. I have never tried another product that does anything close to this for me. I looked at the ingredients and can't find anything that revolutionary, so I have to wonder if it has something to do with pH? As you probably know, Dior Addict Lip Glow is a baby pink in the tube and changes to a custom shade once it goes on your lips - in my case, very very bright pink. I'm not a chemist, but my guess is that this color change is based on your skin's pH levels. Maybe somehow the balm balances out the pH of my lips, which helps with the irritation? I don't know. I just know that I swear by this stuff, I don't care if it's $30. Nothing compares!

  • Caroline K

La Mer's lip balm! Indulgent but in a really worth it way

  • Elle M

Burt's bees, honey, peppermint and pomegranate. Best affordable one.

  • Sabina

Elizabeth Arden 8-Hour Cream. It doesn't smell pretty (my co-worker said it smells like a doctor's office, kinda true) but it's really moisturizing, has a nice texture, and it's super versatile - put it on your lips, hands, cuticles, chapped or burned anything, mix with eye shadow for a glossy lid, condition your lashes or keep your brows in place with it, etc. etc. etc. Can't get enough of it. Runner's up: Kiehl's Lip Balm #1, eos, Burt's Bee's, Honest Co., Smith's Rosebud.

  • p90

La Roche Posay Cicaplast Levres! It actually repairs seriously dry lips. The ONLY thing that helped my lips when I was on roaccutane!

  • Prenouveau

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Swivel Stick--and I have chronic dry lips from Accutane use. It's amazing and it's 3 bucks. Comes in a rather large white tube, so people always ask me if I'm putting glue on my lips.

  • q. mab

Nivea overnight recovery, which I'm pretty sure doesn't exist anymore, but I'm holding out for a hero.

    • Yolondi

Try chapstick, they have a daytime tube and an overnight tube. I had this years ago and loved it, then it disappeared, now it's back! I snatched it up when I saw it! Not sure where you are but I'm in Australia, if we have it then surely everywhere else should too. Fixes the most ravaged lips overnight.

  • Vanessa Reyes

Sun Bum SPF30 Coconut Lip Balm

    • Addison Cain

Unrelated, but Sun Bum's Sunscreen Face Stick is THE BEST beach accessory.

      • Vanessa Reyes

I must purchase that...Thanks!! I already have their sunscreen and cool down lotion what's one more Sun Bum product..lol

  • pamb

Nothing to add, just that I love open posts like this! So much fun to make a shopping list of new treats...

  • Amy

bite's lip mask is AMAZING and has rescued my winter chapped lips!!

  • lwbr

Uriage Bariéderm Lèvres and Nuxe Reve de Miel!

    • Fee

      Snap

  • Jane T.

My favorites are La Mer for bedtime (rich and minty) and Fresh Sugar for daytime (plain and all of the different colors).

  • lee31

Sara Happ's The Lip Slip. Lasts all night on my chronically dry lips. Anything with mint or menthol or grapefruit, etc. is just like adding kerosene to a fire for my poor lips.

  • Glamour Stains

Waxelene in the pot or tube for your purse. So good. https://www.waxelene.com/store

  • http://www.dishguts.com/ Meg White

The Gnarly Whale's lip balm. Obsessed but Lypsyl or Burt's Bees for SPF.

  • B. Kinard

Smith's rosebud salve has to be my favorite lip balm of all time. Not super greasy and you lips feel like heavenly satin pillows afterwards. Not to mention the container lasts you forever (as long as you don't let it melt).

  • EricaBasha

    Aquaphor all the way!

  • B

EOS, Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream (both ointment & the lip balm version), Nuxe, Fresh and Dior (white pot thingy which is super chic!) - My favourites and I've tried almost every bloody one out there! These, my friends, are my ultimate favourites!

  • Emme Vee

    Kari Gran Lip. Whip

  • Nina

It was fun reading other people's recommendations. I'll have to try the Nivea Lip Butter.

I will still stand by my favorite lip balm and that is the one pictured, the EOS lip balm. It's fun to apply, has staying power, lasts a long time, smells good, and I forget I'm wearing it which is the best part.

  • http://www.the-orchard.me/ Joanna

Dior - Creme de Rose. That stuff is amazing!

    http://www.the-orchard.me

  • Kaleigh Fasanella

burts bee's tinted lip balm in red dahlia!

  • blog.style-council.ch

    Carmex, Carmex, Carmex

  • ITGMackenzie

I can't pick a favorite! I love love love EOS lip balm, especially because it's unavoidable to ingest lip products and theirs is organic. But I also carry around Marc Jacobs Makeout, By Terry Rose Balm, and the sexiest lip hydrator out there-- Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. In all sincerity, whenever I stop someone on the street/at the office/at a party to ask what's on their lips it's always Eight Hour Cream. It has turned me into an unofficial 8HR evangelist.

    • Alina

I wish the eos lip balm worked for me :( they're so cute to carry around!

  • Emma B

Sara Happ The Lip Slip. It's somewhat tacky (in the physical sense) but insanely effective and lasts forever. And it smells like roses.

  • Mandy

#1 Palmer's Cocoa Butter Lip Balm
    #2 Dior Addict Lip Glow
    #3 Homeoplasmine

  • Kelly O’Kane

    homeoplasmine always!!!

  • Robert

    I am fan because http://bit.ly/1a0U5R2

  • Zeynep

    Good ol' fashioned Chapstick.

  • Kelly R.

Bobbi Brown Lip Balm. Hydrates and not shiny and goopy. You can wear it under or over other lip products if needed. Love it.

  • Pale Skin Make Up

A toss up between the Vaseline tins Cocoa Butter/Rose and Almond.

  • Vhilt

    Lucas pawpaw ointment. Hands down.

  • Patricia

It's relatively new to the market, but Ellovi lip balm is amazing. You can actually feel it moisturizing your lips and not just sitting on top of them like so of the more popular balms. Although you can't beat Rodin's almost-as-effective balm for chicness, in either it's traditional compact or the LE ring.

  • Angela_E

I'm currently loving homeoplasmine to survive this winter cold. It protects my lips and makes them look healthy and plump;and I like to fantasize it makes me look very 'off-duty' model, as I scurry my way around campus. (Nude skincare also made an amazing balm, but apparently I was the only one who liked it - it was discontinued last year.)

  • Britt

Hands down Nuxe Reve de Miel! :)

  • Jehens07

    ChapStick - classic original

  • Hannah

Weleda Everon and Hurraw's moon balm are both fantastic.

  • isilnoir

i'm a lip balm maniac and i've tried a LOT of lip balms. my favourite right now is burt's bees ones. it's really hydrating and just a little bit greasy, which i like because i don't like sticky ones (like body shop's born lippy. absolute disaster) and it has a nice smell which is not that heavy. because sometimes the lip balms are so smelly that you feel like you are eating lip balm when you are eating your food (again, born lippy or blistex's tasty ones) and the taste of it won't go away. and it's also completely natural, i want it to be natural because i'm constantly eating it, aren't i? but actually, my favourite, the best and the most moisturizing one is nivea med care lip balm (the white package) it's amazing. but i'm not using it because it's not natural. my next stop is yes to carrots lip balms.

  • lee31

The Eucerin branded products in Europe are wonderful. They have a night cream loaded with hyaluronic acid that I am using very sparingly until I can get back over there.

  • Cristy Moreno

    Burt's' Bees or Rose Salve!!!

  • suzana v.

lip fusion xl. forget the plumping, it's all about hydration. the only one that solves very dried lips (also, goooood smell)

  • Kira Klaas

I was hooked on Carmex for years, but I finally tried the EOS balm in Sweet Mint and it's the bessttt. Carmex is great for when your lips are super super chapped and flaky, but EOS is perfect for every day and has a yummy taste. I haven't tried the other flavors yet though.

  • @gabvizza

Hi! My lips get really dry, especially in the winter, terrible; I've tried -almost- everything... For a long time I used 8 Hour cream not too bad but too rich...and the dryness comes back on and on. Rose balm by terry is quiet good too, but same thing, expect that it smells amazing, too rich, difficult to wear during the day. I found a solution which is:

During day time: Clarins lip balm (thin, super efficient) or if I want color label in cherry color (cheap and efficient) or also tried the newish gamey maybelline baby lips in pink punch (in reality love the color but the commercial is lying about its supposed super power as a moisturer but well....).

Then, at night, "traitement de choc" (I'm French, couldn't find a proper translation, also excuse my English ;)) which is scrubbing (tried the lip scrubs, but never found a good one, and you just end up eating some of it never mind how keenly you close your mouth) so just take of little dead skins off with my finger while in a hot shower, helps with the steam, or with a tooth brush), then I apply a small amount of Eucerin aquaphor; works wonder (and is also the best price/efficiency of all). I also love the sensaï lip balm but they are stopping the brand so let's not get too attached....

Also, sorting out the PB from inside by taking omega 3 boosted pills helps :)

    Hope it will be helpful,

Love from a Parisian with very dry lips ;)

  • Vevs

Eva Chen turned me onto the neosporin overnight lip renewal. IT IS A DREAM!!

  • SM

Dr. Bronner's Sun Dog lip balm in Naked.

  • Megan

La Mer is amazing and smells like mint chocolate chip, but i love and need the Carmex original lipbalm in the pot during the winter when my lips are super dry. Plus I kind of love the mediciney scent.

  • Vassilina B.

A.Vogel Echinaforce Lippenbalsem. It soothes and repairs dry chapped lips but it can prevent any damage if it is worn regularly. I prefer to use it as a night treatment just because it leaves a white/ greenish tint to the lips.
    Greetings from Greece!

  • Vassilina B.

A.Vogel Echinaforce Lippenbalsem. It soothes and repair dry, chapped lips but it can also prevent any damage if it's used regularly. I prefer to use it overnight as it leaves a white/ greenish tint to the lips.
    Greetings from Athens!

  • Mary

Hi, girls! I really love Nuxe Reve de Miel. When I stay at home I put it on. On the go I prefer Carmex in stick or EOS in lemon flavor.

  • Amanda

$$$: Christian Dior Creme de Rose Lip Balm...not sure that's the proper name but it's the one in the fancy white pot that smells divine and feels even better going on.

$$: Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment...the original and intensive versions are colorless, super moisturizing, and really last.

$: EOS and Blistex Complete Moisture (blue tube w/SPF)...both offer super affordable moisture for my perpetually chapped lips. At this price point it's also no big deal if one of my daughters decides to make it her own.

  • Poonam

I favour La Mer, Nivea Lip Butter, Elizabeth Arden Lip Protectant Stick, and am really smitten with Bite Beauty's Agave Lip Mask. So great to have a petrolatum-free product that feels as thick and protective without the byproducts!

I keep an eos egg in summer fruit on my nightstand for after I brush my teeth. When I'm on the go, Yes to Carrots lip balm in melon is consistently soothing and doesn't break the bank. However, when my lips are dying (after a little brown sugar and olive oil lip scrub) the ONLY thing that rehabilitates them is a few drops of unrefined coconut oil then a healthy swipe of Aquaphor. You gotta seal that crap IN. Haha.

  • Dina Cook

    Maybelline baby lips

  • Macey

Burts Beez...so small, so cheap, works so well in cold, dry weather. I like the honey one for when I dont want the peppermint sting. I was seriously sad when my boy's giant dogs chomped it down in one chomp while on a winter trip in Maine, but I was able to buy a new one the next day at HOME DEPOT.

smith's rosebud salve is my favorite. i've tried a ton of (rather popular/trendy) balms, and none of them have done much. the rosebud (and the minted rose) salves always make my lips feel wonderful for a long period of time.

neosporin overnight repair, it says overnight but i've been using it all day during this polar vortex and its saved me. i layer it over the peter thomas roth lip treatment at night and it has changed my life.

    Aquaphor, winter essential
Cocoa butter stick by palmer's for everything, lips, cheekbones, above the eyes and rough patches
Nivea Milk and Honey for everyday and under lipstick/gloss

Its pricey - but some things are worth it!

  • GooseWellington

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment - Sucks to spend $22 like once a month but it's worth it. Also leurve Sara Happ Lip Slip.

  • Kay

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Swivel Stick is amazing. It smells like cake batter and goes on like silk. Perfect for rough winter lips. I slather it on overnight and it's a miracle treatment.

  • CLAUDIApietrzak

Good old-fashioned Burt's Bees Pomegranate Lip Balm is my favorite!

  • Kay

My other favorite is Burt's Bees. It smells like peppermint and has more staying power than traditional Chapstick because the base is beeswax, not petroleum jelly.

  • Jessica Weingarten

Burt's Bees Soothing Lip Balm with Eucalyptus or Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment!

  • Jess

Aesop's Rosehip Seed Lip Cream is a dream. Non-greasy, sinks in rapidly and maintains moisture. Saying that, however, I have nary a bag that doesn't contain a tube of Lucas' Pawpaw Ointment, as you can use it on your lips as well as on any cuts, burns or bites you may have!

  • Bella Wicks

Lucas PawPaw Ointment will always be the best. 100% Natural and it works far better than anything else I've tried.

  • Clare C

Brauer Paw Paw lip butter or REN vita mineral lip balm

  • Richard

Mint Blistex. SPF 15, moisturizing, protective. The only lip balm I have ever repurchased.

  • Amy R

Burt's Bee's in the original peppermint. I've had high end, I've had low end, I've been on Accutane which gave me terribly chapped lips and left me with a lip balm addiction and dry lips that nothing could quench... but this yellow tube of divinity saved me and I have yet to find anything that compares it. You'd have to pry it from my cold, dead hands.

  • Melissa r

Burt's bees and kiehl's! Duh! All natural is the way to go and Burt's need has peppermint so it's great before smooching someone

I absolutely adore Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips. This is the best thing I've ever used, so moisturising, and the smell is divine, and it also has a hint of colour. Perfection!

For day, Caudalie lip conditioner - I've used it for years. It's just the right day formula - it coats and stays put, but doesn't feel too thick or tacky. At night it's a toss up between Nuxe reve de miel in the pot (I find it too thick for day), Aquaphor or 8 Hour Cream if I need a major moisturizing overnighter (if I've been wearing red lipstick, for instance). Runner ups are Amilab, EOS, Mustela hydra-stick. For tinted but very moisturizing lip balms, Tata Harper's Be Adored and Apivita's blackcurrant are the best.

If your lips are super SUPER dry and you're staying at home, you can just put a little bit of butter or coconut oil on them to extra condition them. But the Kiehls original (in the tube) is the best. Carmex (in the pot) is also very good.

Laura Mercier Flawless skin lip silk. It's stupidly expensive but it works. it's not a lip balm; you can't use it throughout the day. Once at night and you will wake up with the softest lips. (Also if you ever buy anything from La Mer and they give you that tiny pot of the original cream, use that on your lips at night first, too. It tastes awful but the next day you are ready for serious kissing. Of a person. A real person.)

  • Hai Yen Nguyen

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment Rosé is my favorite indulgent lip balm. The formula is lush so it leaves a thick coat on your lips to seal in moisture. I discovered this stuff one particularly harsh winter a few years ago and it brought my lips back to health! It also leaves behind a delicate rosy tint that goes well with windburned cheeks.

  • Bounette

Can't believe nobody mentioned Ceralip by Roche Posay! Its really the best. With lip balms I used before, my lips would get addicted, I would always have to use it more and more. Not with Ceralip. So I don't use as much, just when I really need it. It absorbs really well, no odour, no color, just a fantastic product. rather unglamorous, but Lucas' Papaw Ointment is my lifesaver! it's also just an all round multi tasking balm for dryness. I have a 75 gram tub of it in every room in my house.

  • Minh Ai

Lucas papaw ointment. And if my lips are super dry I will put a layer of a cream called Bepanthan before I go to bed. It's an ointment for breastfeeding mothers with nipple rash and babies bottoms, but it works for just about everything. And will totally make cracked or dry lips feel softer and less painful by the morning!

  • JM_Sea

Rêve de miel by Nuxe for the smell and the texture. I also like to put on Carmex after washing my teeth (I also have a "cold sore phoebia" and I read somewhere that Carmex helps against them, so I use it preventatively).

  • Chelsea

lucas's papaw ointment! I have the driest lips ever and have tried from La Mer, Nuxe to vaseline and coconut oil! I can use Papaw even when my lips are too dry they crack open because this ointment can cleanse as well... It soothes my lips so well and makes them hydrated and smooth... I've been using this for 2 months and it makes the color of my lips pinker as well... SO MUCH LOVE!!!!!! plus a tube lasts a century!!

Hands down fresh sugar lip balm. Everytime I stray to try something new or trendy (Dr.Lipps nipple balm for lips) I get a chemical burn or I find myself applying more frequently to quench my lip's thirst, I find myself reaching for Fresh to repair the need.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. A little pricier than your average lip balm but it lasts forever and can also be used to moisturize dry patches anywhere on your body, soften cuticles and groom brows.

The scent of the original isn't great but they've released an unscented version. Adds a little shine too, which is nice.

I have tried way too many chopsticks and lip balms, and so far the Fresh Sugar one has been the most hydrating. I have it in Passion, but I think I'm going to buy the clear one for everyday!

  • Natasha

Kiehl's lip balm in SPF 15. It leaves my lips feeling luxouriously soft because of the petroleum jelly involved, and I find I don't need to reapply it often unlike other lip balms, which is especially important during winter when my lips chap and flake liek crazy. Also they've introduced new flavours, and I'm digging the cranberry one at the moment!

  • Averill B

Homeoplasmine and Chanel lipgloss are the only long lasting lip moisturizers that seem to suffice in very dry climates!

  • Anne K

Fresh, Sugar Advanced Lip Therapy...anything fresh is amazing, but this stuff really works. So moisturizing and gives you a little shine. the tinted version is perfect for day to day if you want to feel a little more done!

Dior's Creme Abricot. Tastes bad, works wonders!

Yu-Be is my favorite. And Homeoplasmine. Oh, and Fresh Sugar lip balm.

  • Arosebyanyothername

Stila colorbalm lipstick! My lips always peel during the day, but since I've been wearing these (I have 4 different colours but my fave is Isabelle, an adobe pink) I don't seem to need balm at night. My only gripe is we pay $36/ tube here in Australia as opposed to $22 in the US. Otherwise I'd probably have it in even more colours. Super creamy - the kind you look forward to putting on in the morning.

  • Melissa

Homeoplasmine! I tend to get bumps around my lips due to my sensitive and acne prone skin anytime I use a heavy lip moisturizer. This is the only one that hydrates my lips as well as keeps them clear of bumps. Only lip product I've used and been told my lips look amazing! Obsessed. Perk is it also helps with my acne bumps overnight.

LaBalm is awesome, it's handmade so it doesn't have all the weird addictive ingredients, it's number 1 ingredient is hempseed oil and the packaging is WAY cute. My lips always feel so conditioned afterwards I looove them, I just wish they weren't $9 a piece but I guess that's what you get for quality :/ oh and they don't have petroleum jelly or mineral oils in them and they're animal cruelty free!

E.o.s. because it is very moisturizing and is such a adorable egg shaped case. In fact, my lips healed almost instantly thanks to e.o.s. It also has a wonderful smell that just makes you love too use it. Although some kinds of lip balms get inside your mouth while you eat, they taste disgusting. Unlike e.o.s. when I put I on my lips it tasted like a sweet candy of some kind. The best part about the e.o.s. is that it is smooth and easy to put on your lips. You don't have to rub really hard like for most chap sticks. All you have to do gently rub against your lips and it will sure keep your lips moisturizing. I love using e.o.s. and I hope you like it and much and I do!

Dr. Dan's CortiBalm is a life saver. It is the only lip balm i have ever tried that healed my lips to the point I did not need to use anything after a few days. I have tried hundreds of different lip products and I will never put anything else on my lips.

    Waxelene!!!

The only lip balm that has ever worked for my eczema ridden lips is one that I had to make myself. Nothing in stores worked as well as the one I made does. It has shea butter, avocado oil, honey, vitamin e, sweet almond oil, cocoa butter, and beeswax. It has the texture of a thick waxy salve, which melts into a smooth cream on my lips and stays on for hours. It keeps them smooth and soft without flaking and I love it so much! If nothing works for you, definitely try making your own. It's natural, customizable, and generally cheaper per unit compared to other natural lip balms.

Here's my recipe (I don't quite remember the exact numbers but adjust to your liking):

    -1 sweet almond oil
    -1/2 tsp avocado oil
    -1 tsp shea butter
    -1 tsp cocoa butter
    -2 tsp beeswax
    -1/2 tsp honey
    -3 drops vitamin e (about 1 capsule)

Melt everything except the vitamin e and honey together in the microwave or a double boiler. Take it off the heat and stir in honey and vitamin e as it cools. Keep stirring until the mixture is a thick gooey substance. Put in small containers (tubes don't work well for this, but add more beeswax if you want a tube) and apply generously on lips. This will be harder to apply in the cold so warm it up with your finger, scoop a small amount out, and slather on lips before going outside! Also keep in your pocket so the heat will make it easier to apply. Take care everyone and good luck :-)
