What’s the Best Under-Eye Concealer?

If, like many of us, you were born looking like you already needed a nap, the importance of under-eye concealer can not be overstated. Finding one that won't crease, glow white at a flashing camera, or disappear two hours into the day is no small task. Which is why we want to know: what are your top under-eye concealer picks—and why is your favorite so damn good?

Let’s Talk About It! JOIN IN
  • CJ

I've always used DermaBlend concealer, but I recently added Perricone MD No Concealer Concealer as a base, and it works wonderfully. I just use a little DermaBlend for the very dark sections and the No Concealer stays put all day.

    • eastvillagesiren

Hi CJ, I bought a DermBlend stick this summer, right before they changed the packaging. It seems like the formula is the same. Have you noticed any difference?

  • Bella

Nars radiant creamy concealer. Perfect coverage, texture, lasting power, good colour range, doesn't crease: perfect. Runner up but quite a long way behind: Laura Mercier secret concealer. It tends to dissolve my bottom lash mascara a little,is just the slightest bit toooooo creamy, requiring a bit of extra patting, and the shade range isn't as wide. It's really good still, though.

    • Tinsley

And Maybelline FitMe concealer for a close-to-perfect dupe! Nars just has the lasting power over the Maybelline.

      • Tamara

I have FitMe and I find its a little too sheer for blemishes, which is why I always dismissed the idea of Nars being good for covering spots, etc. since theyre supposed to be similar. But loads of websites, bloggers etc wax lyrical about the wonders of Nars radiant creamy concealer and recently I saw it used in a YouTube video where it magically covered blemishes. Sorry for the ramble, I just want to know if the Nars concealer is at all different from Maybelline FitMe :)

      • Caroline

i completely agree with maybelline Fit me as a great Nars dupe. I love it for my dark circles as for acne it depends on how intense it is, for mild redness and dark splotchy skin that is not too bumpy it works great & if they made a green tint i would totally buy it!

    • Guest

Can't find a skin tone match for this concealer. Such a bummer!

    • Lana

Can't find a match for my skin in the NARS ! Such a bummer :(

      • Janine

I perfect the color with a good but inexpensive concealer. I use Maybelline FIT. I'm quite fair and still couldn't find the perfect match with NARS but once I started mixing with the FIT in shade 15, I found a perfect match. And the Maybelline is only @ $5.

        • Lana

What a great idea! I think I just always want the easy way out (for something to match me right away), but working to find the right mixture would probably be more effective. Thanks for the tip, Janine!

          • Janine

You're welcome! It's funny. NARS has so many colors but it's so hard to match. You'll really like the Maybelline concealer! :)

    • Laura Ellen Sehler-Walls

I had heard so many good things about this concealer and went to Sephora to try it out . It was difficult to blend out and really really apparent under my eyes (even after finding the right shade) it was just a nightmare for me. Needless to say I returned it. But then again, I am not a spring chicken anymore and the people that raved about it were in their twenties I would say that it is definitely not for mature eyes. Believe it or not, my favorite concealer for the last three years has been Olay Touch of Concealer. It blends right in without looking the least bit cakey and I find it buildable.

    • deltaburkefan

I like it, but it's not enough for my undereyes. I like to layer it over NYX full coverage color corrector in eyllow.

  • Victoria

Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer. It's intense and you need to know what you're doing, but if you do it's amazing.

    • Aparnaa

Agreed. A tiny bit goes a really long way and I have to think about it, but the Sensual Skin Enhancer covers up well.

    • Adrienne Angelos

I don't love it for under eye concealing, maybe because I haven't found the right technique for it though. It definitely takes some playing with because you can do so many things with it by mixing it with other products or changing up your application. It is without a doubt my top concealer for blemishes because of the cray cray pigmentation - I feel like this must be the magic potion base that foundations get created from. Glorious.

  • http://bowsforjustine.blogspot.com/ Traci J

For a wallet-friendly version I opt for Glamoflauge by Hard Candy. It covers everything - and I use a shade lighter to brighten up my under eye area. The best thingis that it doesn't move! Stays on my eyes all day long. Ps. That picture is fabulous.

  • desssie

the one i really, really love I picked up thanks to one or another Top Shelf: Laura Mercier Undercover Pot. Love it because it is so damn practical: one distinct texture / color for the undereye coverage (creamier and more rosy), and for the face correction thingy (drier and more beige-looking). The only criticism I have is the powder applicator, which I find unpractical and end up not using.
Must also mention a knock-off of the Mercier Pot I found at Boots for a fraction of the price: Soap&Glory Kick Ass concealer. The texture is not as perfect and refined, but it is very much cheaper, has a really cool, retro packaging, and comes with a much more handy powder sponge, which I use religiously!

    • Kay

I use Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage - the light color mixed with a tad of a face oil spreads really easily and has incomparable opacity while never creasing or looking cakey. Amazing.

  • Molly Lyon

By Terry Touche Veloutee- it's like silk, never creases, both covers circles, and illuminates. It's a win-win magical little wand.

  • jamie landry

Lise Watier Undercover Creme Concealer!! My shade is "Clair". I have olive skin that is pale in the winter, and genetic under-eye circles that make me look sleepy and slightly purple no matter how much sleep I'm actually getting. I went through countless beauty counter, drugstore and sephora trips to find the right shade and consistency. The brand is Canadian so I'm not sure where else it's available. It somehow manages to reflect light without coming across as too "highlight-y", blends in sooo smoothly, and yet stays natural in the way that doesn't really look like you smeared anything under your eyes.

    • murt

hmm I should check this out!

  • Shahrzad Saednejad

My absolute favorites are Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer and MAC prolong wear. These for me fill in my circles without creasing or fading away. I love the consistency of the Nars, it blends beautifully into the skin. I like that you can use the prolong wear as an eye primer too! :) xx

  • Lauren Brander

I used to be a devoted Cle de Peau fan (still love the texture), but a cheaper option with GREAT coverage is Dermablend Smooth Indulgence concealer. Full disclosure - I used to work with the company that does their PR, so I got to try some for free. Honestly hooked - it stays on all day, and covers my dark purple under eye circles. The Dermablend in the morning and the Cle de Peau for touch-ups is my routine now.

  • ITGLacey

I have a secret... I actually use a MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot as under-eye concealer. It's this shade called Layin' Low that's just a little bit russet to counteract the purple-blue under my eyes, & because it's a waterproof liner that shiz is nearly impossible to move. It's the only thing I've ever found that definitively works/lasts all day/has the ideal amount of coverage. You just have to let your eye cream absorb completely before you apply, or it won't "stick."

    • http://www.champagnerising.com/ heather adair

      Ditto :)
I have a paint pot in "Painterly" that was a great match for my skin, and DOES NOT BUDGE once it's on....I started using that to cover some odd-looking purple-ish areas under my eyes, and it works like a charm.

  • Elaine

Nars radiant creamy concealer, no question, I've never found anything this good! And it will do blemishes too!

  • TIffany Squared

Kevyn Aucoin Skin Enhancer!!! Can be worn as a foundation or concealer or spot cover up, magic in an expensive little jar. One jar lasts me a year! No exaggeration

  • Allie

YSL Touche Eclat is great (while it lasts); a surprisingly good drug-store alternative is Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer!

  • znyc

I'm South Asian, with hereditary undereye circles, so a good cover-up is a must. My concealer preferences change as my skin changes (with age and with seasons). Currently on a Benefit Erase Paste + Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer kick, and it's passing my test for staying on all day AND looking good in photos. I have used DermaBlend and it! Cosmetics concealers in the past, and those are solid options, too.

  • Katethegrr8

I've always used Laura Mercier's Secret Concealer Undereye Pot. I will say that I often have to reapply it if I've got a lot going on in the course of the day, but the color matches perfectly and it goes on smoothly. It doesn't crease and it's the makeup I wear religiously every. single. day. (even if I don't do anything else!)

    • Genevieve

YES! Completely agree. I have shade 3, which is a little pinker and covers up my eye circles without making it look like I have white crescent blobs under my eyes.

  • Ashley

That Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer is by far my favorite. I have had that tube for over a year and I'm only halfway through. A fantastic buy!

    http://fairandfancyfree | BlogLovin'

  • Kasia

I don't really use it...maybe it's because I rarely get dark circles under my eyes, or maybe it's because I associate the term "under-eye concealer" with the "Kardashian face", and I always think of celebrities who use under-eye concealer a couple of shades too light for their complexion. I don't consider it a must-have. I consider it to be one of those overhyped products that only few people really need to use.

    • Eliza

I wish that was true for me--I definitely think some people are blessed and don't need it, but unfortunately I look like I just got off a three-day bender when I forget to put it on.

    • Shawna

Although I am a person who looks about 100000x better with concealer, I will agree with you over the fact celebrities tend to use a shade that's too light. I never understood the appeal in that. It just looks like you're wearing concealer.

    • Nina

I totally agree. And unlike you, I actually do have dark circles (Indian, genetic!) but I think under eye concealer makes me look so unnatural. The best is a sheer, illuminating type concealer but again, its not a must have for me. I always find if weird that people make it out to be such an essential product- no hate/disrespect AT ALL, just a different point of view :) for me personally, a full coverage concealer for blemishes is much more necessary!

    • Caroline

So i just started using concealer under my eyes like within the past month bc im not a huge makeup person and i agree with the whole anti white pale undereye kardashian look but when u find a good shade i swear for me it made me depend less on eyeliner to look "awake" and it makes me look bright eyed and bushy tailed way early in the morning. If anything i use less makeup now thanks to good ol' concealer bc all i need is a dab here n there & mascara so I totally had my reservations as well but now I cant go back!

  • Beth

I am still searching for the best under eye concealer. Heard great things about 17's On The Spot though,so that's next on the list!

  • MaceyJ

    I am guessing..... j.mp/1coOjWe
Don't know how to pronounce it... But definitely the best I have ever used.

  • Maree Sye

Clarins News instant concealer in shade 1 is my new everything. Amazing coverage, smooth application!

    • Dani

I´m using Clarins Instant Concealer also in shade 01 and I´m loving it!

  • Liz

    Laura Mercier Secret Concealer

  • Em McDonnell

Armani's High Precision Retouch has the right combination of being pigmented, yet incredibly light weight and natural, I pat on some orange Master Corrector if I'm going for a more polished look. Runner up would be Chanel's Correcteur Perfection Long Lasting, more full coverage compared to Precision Retouch, but still natural and is long lasting.

    • Mayda

I agree! Used YSL and Laura for many years but Armani is the perfect combination of lightness and coverage!

  • Lionessa

I absolutely love NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. It is so pigmented & luxuriously creamy it's perfect for under eyes. It's the best I've tried.

  • vevs

Concealer: mac 12 hour, tiny bottle for $19....but the pump gives way to much product and you need the smallest amount ever. Nars creamy concealer doesnt do ANYTHING

    • maharani

i use the mac pro long wear, and i do think that the pump gives way too much product. so i ask for an empty pot in mac counter and pump the concealer in that pot. i can just dip my concealer brush and use just in amount i need.

  • lisa_carbone

I have the NARS Radiant concealer and I do like it for my face, to cover the redness around my nose and it works great on slight imperfections...but for the undereye, nothing beats Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser! The Brightner, Concealer & Neutralizer are all must haves for any makeup-junkie. These are made specifically for dark circles so I don't find them particularly useful for the rest of the face. They work better than any high-end concealer I've every used, including CDP, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier....I can go on and on. Highly recommend.

  • Erin

RMS beauty "un" cover-up!! so creamy and it blends right in

    • murt

This creases like crazy on me and I have very dry skin! Otherwise I do like the texture, and I continue to use it when the weather is very cold and I'm in a situation where I don't care much if my concealer creases.

    • Stella Shi

I really wanted this to work for me but alas my skin does not play well with coconut oil (breaks me out and turns my already oily skin even oilier).

    • Laura

Seconded. No creasing, just dewiness. I also like kjaer weis foundation as concealer.

  • :)

    Bobbi Brown Corrector!

    • :))

No dude, don't know about you but on me it creases like no other! On the whole I am not a fan of Bobbi Brown's correctors/concealers, i don't think it works for me, i find it cakes a lot through the day...

  • http://lindsaysuejohnson.com/ Lindsay Sue

Lorac used to make a concealer that came in a little pot. I think they discontinued it tho :(

  • Sandy Light

I'm fair/light-skinned with natural black hair and horrific, hereditary dark circles - which was pretty cool during my goth-y phase, but now that I'm older, I just look vampire-y. *Not Ian Somerhalder vampire-y; I'm talking Bela Lugosi vampire-y.* I've tried everything - but being fair-skinned is a nightmare when trying to cover dark circles - like I want something to make me look even WHITER .... I am currently using (and I even surprised myself with this purchase) the light/medium Conceal and Brighten Trio by Sheer Cover. As long as you don't RUB it in (which I have always been guilty of doing) but rather PAT the edges, its pretty darn good.

  • hollygoeslightly22

I have serious dark circles. Cle de Peau+ Chanel hydrating eye cream works great. Yes, Cle de Peau is expensive but that stick lasts a long time and works for covering up redness/blemishes.

  • Marcela

    • Anna

    • Kristen

      Ditto, ditto, ditto!!!

    • Jess

100% agree-worth every penny and lasts forever!!! Great coverage, great texture, easy to apply, perfect color for me!

    • Marianne

Cle de Peau Concealer - agree!

    • proudmomof4

Totally agree! Love this. Divine for mature skin!! So easy to apply because it's soft and creamy yet it stays on the whole day. This is the perfect under-eye concealer though I can't say it works best on my blemishes since I have oily/combination skin. I believe this would be a perfect overall concealer for drier skin which is why it works perfectly for my under-eye.

  • http://annamaltby.tumblr.com amm507

Benefit's Erase Paste is CRAZY good but I'm allergic to it. If anyone with sensitive skin/skin allergies has a suggestion, I am all ears!

    • Kate

I have super sensitive skin around my eyes and I've had my fair share of horrible bright pink scaly skin. Tarte Maracuja Concealer (the stuff that's pictured over Channing Tatum's pretty face up there) is the best. I've used only that for two years and have never had a reaction. I think the key for me was finding something that was creamy and fragrance-free—it's great.

  • Sharon Macklin

I have so many, I switch around almost daily! But...my favorite has to be Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener - not the one in the wand that they sell now, but the one in the pot, which is discontinued, of course. When they changed to the wand, which has a fraction of the amount of the pot, I bought several of the old version, and I am (sob!) halfway through my last pot. Other than that, I like GA Maestro Eraser Concealer, Nars Creamy Concealer and Chanel Correcteur Perfection.

  • Jane T.

Touche Eclat is far and away the best! And it's also great to use as a highlighter for matte contouring.

  • http://insertwth.com/ Denisse

I've been using Chanel concealer, which works okay, but I don't think it actually covers much. Heard the Nars creamy concealer is great, though!

  • Behind the Mirror

I am in love with the Marc Jacobs concealer right now. I put it up a while back as one of my fall favorites. Read about here if you would like:

    • Sharon Macklin

Forgot about that one - also in my rotation...

  • Laura

Clé de Peau concealer is my favorite, but Tarte maracuja creaseless concealer is wonderful too!

  • http://lazyobsession.blogspot.com/ Lazy Obsession Blog

hahah I love that first line omg

I have two... Benefit Boing (it covers e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g) and Rimmel match perfection highlighter and concealer. It's a pretty decent touche eclat Hack.

    • Rachael

Benefit Boing is amazing! I've tried nearly every concealer there is and Boing is the only one light enough for my fair skin and strong enough to cover my dark circles. Cle de Peau was even too dark for me.

      • Lori

Love Benefit Boing for under my eyes. It does not do so well for my eyelids though. If anyone has any suggestions for that issue that does not crease, look white, and lasts ALL DAY, please let me know.

  • Kris

Bobbi brown corrector with creamy concealer on top plus the powder... The corrector really does the ground work of concealing the dark color... Like purple. It's really amazing how well it works.

  • Jennifer Dickinson

I adore Cle de Peau's coverage; for my under eye area, I find it easier to blend first with a dot of eye cream, and then pat around the area. I use it neat when I need to conceal elsewhere.

I recently tried Benefit's Fakeup, which has a band of moisturizer around the concealer; it works pretty well if you're a blender like me, but I do think Cle de Peau's coverage is better (even blended), plus it is more versatile if you don't blend for use in other areas.

  • EFord

Nars radiant creamy concealer is the ONLY concealer that does not crease on me and gives good coverage. MAC Prep + and Prime (Radiant Rose) is also a favorite for illuminating under the eye. Those two are the best out of the dozen concealers I have dabbled in.

  • Becky

I've been really surprised at how good Maybelline Age Rewind is! I use the Dark Circle formula, and it has really good coverage as well as being brightening. I use it on top of Bobbi Brown corrector, and then I set it all with powder, and it typically lasts my whole work day. I also really like Benefit Fakeup, but that didn't last as long on me.

    • abirthdaypony

Agreed, the Maybelline Age Rewind is a fantastic drugstore option! One of the few concealers that doesn't crease on me.

  • kathS

I used to have love for only Laura Mercier, but since my skin is older, drier, more sensitive - Korres Quercetin and Oak concealer is where it is at!

  • Tess

    MAC full coverage foundation.

  • Sara EB

I LOVE Benefit's Erase Paste! It's the perfect color coral so it's not too white and unnatural. It also moisturizes as it goes on so it doesn't crease.

  • Lena

I used to use the Clinique pen until I tried a sample of Givenchy Mister Light. SO good. I am never going back.

  • Karin

Unlike most women I talk to, I do not have problems with undereye dryness...so I have realized I need a concealer that does not have added moisture - because that causes the concealer to slid off and disappear on me. I have the genetic issue where blood pools under my eyes (gross right?), which means I constantly have darkness under my eyes no matter how much rest I get. After using every concealer under the sun (I'm talking Laura Mercier Secret Concealer, Benefit Fake Up and Erase Paste, MUFE Full coverage, etc.), I finally found Bare Mineral's Well-Rested eye brightening powder - and the powder formulation is key for me! I apply it with a small flat brush and it presses right into my skin, the yellowish tint neutralizes any purplish/blue tones, and it lasts all day without creasing. I'm honestly not a huge fan of a lot of Bare Mineral products...but this one works wonders for me!

  • Eve_Democracy

By Terry, Touch Expert. Smooths the area, so no creasing, and covers dark circles. This has been the only under eye concealer that has adequate coverage for me and it has longevity. The click and dab pen is convenient and easy to apply on the go.

  • natasha

I've tried many concealers over the years and right now i'm using my foundation as a base, then the make up forever tube concealer, and setting with the make up forever HD powder. Its a lot of steps but it lasts long, doesn't crease, and doesn't look so obvious.

  • garliclovers

Bobbi brown brightening concealer and then Mac studio fix concealer

  • Erin

Tarte's Maracuja Creaseless Concealer. It's thin, so it doesn't feel heavy. It totally covers any circles, darkness, and blemishes. PLUS it wears well and lasts all day +. I've even worn it during a half marathon (hello pictures!) with no issues.

  • 안지 ☀

Vichy Dermablend. Hides everything and lasts for even 12h or more.

  • Ranna

I have tried many different concealers throughout my life but the only one I have fallen in love with is Lancôme Effacernes concealer, which I have been using for over 10 years. I have been genetically blessed with dark under-eye circles that only get worse with seasonal allergies, have sensitive eyes and wear contacts. No other concealer has better coverage the dark color and looks as natural as this concealer. It is easy to apply with the ring finger, the texture is perfect and it is a great primer for eye makeup. This concealer has never irritated my eyes, which is a common problem with many other products I have tried in the past. I like to set my concealer after with Bare Minerals Matte Powder to help it last all day and prevent any creasing.

  • Emma and Emily

I adore benefit erase paste and the maybeline age rewind brightener together. They practically cancel out the darkness under my eyes, which is something I have always felt self concious about! I have eye bags since I was born I swear! The origins ginzing eye cream is amazing too for de-puffing before adding my concealer.

  • Eliza

It's so not high-end, but I swear by Garnier Skin Renew concealer--it never creases or flakes, looks totally normal in pictures, and really hides dark circles. I wouldn't say it fixes dark under-eyes at all, so it's purely a cover-up, but it works sooo well for being $12, and the same bottle (tube? applicator?) has lasted me over a year with daily use--I should really replace it, but at this point I'm pretty sure it's a magical, never-ending tube and I have to test its limits.

  • Kira

I used NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer for about a year before I started wondering if maybe there was something better. So I conducted a "test" with NARS on one eye and Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer on the other because I had heard such great things about it. I went home and let them sit for a few hours. Hand down, NARS provided better coverage and was longer lasting. Tarte also started looking a little greasy after a while.

    • Adrienne Angelos

I had the EXACT same experience although I never did the side by side test. Oily/combo skin for the record

      • Kira

I have oily/combo skin as well. Maybe Tarte would work better for dry skinned gals.

  • LJ

Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Under Eye Concealer. BEST.

  • haints

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is the only one you'll ever need, ladies.

  • Folami Small

As a native New Yorker, I had to adjust some products when I moved to Aspen (I visit NYC 2 months out of the year, each year). I have been using Dermablend since I was a teen. Since there's a DRASTIC difference in cliimates, and I have naturally oily skin, I've realized that Dermablend does indeed work best for me.

  • EGR

RMS Uncover Up is amazing. It really is "like skin", as Erin Wasson put it.

  • Marine (frenchy)

"Benefit Boing" is really good but I'm still looking for THE amazing one. I'm also using the "hydrating crease-control concealer" by Benefit too. This one is really great because its a moisturizer + concealer and it doesn’t move during the day.
I tried the Touche Eclat by YSL and even if it's good, I don’t think it’s the one.

  • murt

I'm currently using MAC moisturecover which is not bad if you don't need that much coverage and you have dry skin - it's very creamy and smoothing, and it doesn't crease on me as is in winter, and in summer if I set it with a little powder.

I've heard so many great things about Tarte Maracuja Creaseless and NARS radiant creamy concealer, so I'm going to check out both of those when my MAC concealer runs out. I do have the dry undereye problem though, so I'm unsure if the NARS concealer may be too drying for me.

My all time favourite used to be the Dior Hydrating concealer in the navy blue tube, but they discontinued/reformulated it sadly, and the new version is definitely not as good.

    • Bells

WHY does Dior keep discontinuing their products? I loved the Anticernes Perfecteur too!

  • ericabasha

Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer is my go-to. I sometimes add a little YSL Touche Éclat if my circles are darker.

  • DivaDebbi

I'm using the Nars Radiant but I don't find it to be all that...I also alternate with IT cosmetics and Amazing Concealer. Both require only the tiniest amount, which I apply with a concealer brush. Love this post! I'm going to sample several bases on the recommendations here.

  • Isabel

I use Mac Studio Finish, mostly because I wanted one concealer for spots/discolouration/under-eye,I know people say you shouldn't use it because it creases but it works perfectly for me (no wrinkles, though

  • Katie

Bobbi Brown concealer layered on top of their corrector. The combo is the perfect one-two punch to knock out my serious dark circles.

  • Guest

    1.) Smashbox 2.) NARS

  • FIT ME

Shocked no one has mentioned Maybelline's Fit Me Concealer!!! It's SO creamy and pigmented but doesn't crease. AND CHEAP. I've used the fanciest "best" concealers and this one rivals em all.

  • Andee

I call myself middle aged, but I'm really old, but only moderately wrinkled. Once I hit 60, I found that my two favorites, Cle de Peau and Crème de La Mer while decently long lasting and creamy were making wrinkles at the edges of my eyes look more noticeable. I switched to first the By Terry product and eventually Touche Éclat. I only switched to TE because By Terry did not have a color light enough for really fair skin. Don't care what Wayne Goss says about TE being a highlighter, not a concealer. Touche Éclat, is great, natural and long lasting, but you must pick the shade that is just a scant shade lighter than your face.

  • Anoushé

I love Lancome's liquid concealer. It works best with my skin and stays all day. Second favourite: Bareminerals Stroke of Light! Perfect for a pick me up and it really makes me look more awake

  • mmhardt

Nars radiant creamy concealer. Blendable, good coverage, never cakes or creases. It is also perfect for covering blemishes! It's the one-stop-shop for concealers!

  • Andee

  • Poulette

Ellis Faas with a touch of armani corrector... Nothing else comes close, not even the nars one that everyone raves about - too dry, nothing radiant about it.

  • Mimi

Laura Mercier Secret Concealer!!!! It is truly the best and specifically designed for only under the eye. Sometimes when I want something a little lighter, or I don't need as much coverage I opt for Touche Éclat but it makes me feel like a fake (haha) as it is not a proper concealer.

Has anyone mentioned Makeup Forever Full Cover Concealer? It's my holy grail product. Not only do I have serious dark circles, but now wrinkles - and this baby never does me wrong.

  • http://essentialobsession.blogspot.com/ Kate

I love Clarins Instant Light Perfector. I wear it in the shade 2 which is pretty much perfect for my skin tone. It feels quite lightweight on your skin but it has the most amazing coverage with no creasing and lasts all day with no need for touching up.

  • Lexi

For me, the secret I didn't learn until I was way old, was to use TWO. One to color correct (I use Cle De Peau, truly just tiny pats with my finger and very little product), and another one to brighten. I color correct in the inside of my eye and the outer corner. Then I use Nars Radiant Concealer and dab it in a sort of v-shape underneath and pat it gently to brighten. Set with light powder (I use Tarte, but you could use MUFE HD, Laura Mercier, or whatever) using a small brush and it stays on all day without caking.

So use very little of two different products, and voila! Under eye circles gone.

  • doctor Zoidberg

The Armani high precision concealer - hands down. It conceals without being a thick paste. I mix two colors together - the very fair and somewhat darker and it makes a perfect concealer!

  • Aurora

I've been loving Armani's High Precision Retouch. Illuminating and concealing, lasts all day too!

  • marcia

I am over 70 and I use cle de peau and like it. My under eyes have a tendancy to be red as are my cheeks and recently started using hourglass veil mineral primer and it takes away the red and brightens my under eyes but use the cle de peau over it for darker circles and someimes I use touche eclat for the same. Both work very well but blend blend

  • Allie

I am a very naughty girl. I stay out too late on weeknights, drink more than I should, and generally behave badly. As a result, my under-eye circles are so severe that I wake up most mornings looking liked I got punched in the face. Combine that with my pale skin, and I look more like a panda than actual human being.

Enter Cle de Peau. I get more people telling me how fresh-faced and bright I look than actual hours of sleep. With CDP, all of your sins are forgiven. It erases all minor indiscretions you may have committed against your skin.

And while it seems expensive, it lasts forever. Cost per use is ridiculously low. My first stick lasted 10 months, and that is with me using it all over my face, not just under my eyes. I don't even wear foundation anymore because CDP is so good at covering any little red areas I might have. I'm normally a brush girl, but CDP works best applied on your fingers to warm it up and give it a little slip. Once you pat it on, you're good for the day and beyond. I throw it in my purse for touchups, but I never need them since it just sticks so well.

    • Tanu

i just want a concealer for my indian skin tone which can really cover up my so very dark under eyes..and i swear my under yes are so dark that i really want them to get vanished.please can anyone suggest me a very good concealer to give a complete coverage for my eyes

  • Emma

Amazing Cosmetics is super pigmented, creamy, semi-matte finish and does not move once applied= pretty perfect. Bobbi Brown is also wonderful with her corrector / concealer two step process...helps you customize to your individual needs. For something light and sheer that gives medium coverage...MAC select cover up is quiet nice.

  • Mady

I've been experimenting with less toxic cosmetics, and have been impressed with the Afterglow Triple Eye Treatment. The shade Shortcake works well for light-medium, neutral-toned skin. It's great if you're looking to for a natural look and want some light-medium coverage in that extra-dark inner corner. Plus, its ingredients don't freak me out.

  • Sausagedog

I'm Asian (South indian)-- brown undereye circles galore. There's absolutely I could conceal these bad boys without using a colour corrector first. Thank lord for bobbi brown. I use both her tinted eye brighter and the color corrector in dark peach. Over which I then layer a light layer of concealer. Nars radiant concealer or bobbi browns own. This is the only way that works for me. If they every discontinue the dark peach colour corrected, I will die.

  • Jessica

I just got the smashbox camera ready bb cream for undereyes. it's goes on very smooth and provides amazing coverage for dark circles, but it's not super thick. I've used laura mercier secret concealer which i've always loved and also Clinique airbrush concealer. Laura mercier I use for a night out and I like to use the clinque for day. But the smashbox is the perfect middle ground.

  • helenahay

Vichy dermablend, a little goes a REALLY long way and it stays all damn day

  • Kaitlyn

Benefit Erase Paste is the only one I've tried and liked (and I've tried a TON). Make sure to use primer under your eyes though so that it doesn't crease.

  • http://www.bellebellebeauty.com Lindsay

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer or Armani Maestro Concealer - my two favorite loves of my undereye heart.

  • http://fashionfollower.com/ The Dedicated Follower of Fash

I love Erase Paste from Benefit. It's a concealer/ brightener combo and comes with this itty bitty spatula so no mess :)

  • CB

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, MAC Pro Longwear Concealer, or Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer - the only ones that cover up my dark circles, last and don't crease too badly. I've tried every concealer out there (or so it feels)!

  • http://www.ambiencechaser.com/ Elizabeth Licata

I use Laura Mercier's Secret Concealer. I have dry skin with dark circles and puffy under-eyes at all times (like the same area on Asia Argento, except, you know, she's a movie star). It's really smooth and creamy. I tried several brands, and that's the only one that doesn't go all chalky and make my under-eye area look drier and wrinklier than it is.

  • Alyssa Thomas

For drugstore finds, I love the Garnier eye roller with some L'Oreal Magic Lumi in the corners.

  • Lauren Gildner

Benefit Erase PASTE!!! Its the BEST BEST BEST.

  • Carrie_Pichel

Cle de Peau by FAR! That little stick can cover ANYTHING!!

  • RCB

Trish McEvoy Instant Eye Lift is perfect! Her artist taught me to apply in an upside down triangle under the eye for the best effect. Looks like I got a full night sleep which is NEVER the case! Love it!

  • anam

Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer (wand)...and it's in the application, almost inasmuch as it's in the formula. You have to pat it on, and not use too much, let it set like paint, and then lightly pat on some loose powder to further set it. If you use too much of any under eye concealer it will crease and get goopy.
I also love Bobbi Brown Corrector: the peachy/bisque tones cancel out the darkness. It's also pretty creamy and you don't need to use a whole lot. This product is meant to be used underneath under eye concealer (it's a tone corrector) but you can get away with wearing it by itself.

  • http://thebagreport.com/ The Bag Report

well you cant go wrong with anything m.a.c

  • Lauren Coffey

    Cle de peau concerler!

  • Taylor

    Chanel Under eye

  • Maggie

Without a doubt, I fully recommend the Amazing Cosmetics concealer. It is heavy duty, if that's your thing. I love it, I will never use anything else!

  • KenyanBeauty

kinda love Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. I have dark skin and this has the perfect amount of coverage and yellow balance to negate the purple eye bags. it stays put put and looks even blended with fingers or brushes.

  • Mademoiselle nature

What a great post! Looking for an amazing natural concealer ( which means that it covers but also does good to your skin:-)?? anyone?

  • kay

Do you guys think you could do a Q & A like this for the best treatments/skincare products for dark spots?

  • Christiana

DR PERRICONE NO CONCEALER CONCEALER. Amazing, flawless coverage with SPF 20 as well anti aging properties. A truly great concealer.

  • BeautyMaven

I loooooove tarte creaseless. Also Mac Pro long wear has been so great for me

  • Aurelia

Base of Chanel CC cream, then a liberal schmear of Cle De Peau concealer topped off with By Terry highlighter for those truly purple black under eye circles.

  • Patricia

    By Terry Touche Veloutee!!!

  • Jules

Stila Perfecting Concealer is the best concealer I've ever used, and one of the best products I've ever used in general (which is saying something!). Out of everything I use, I am the most loyal to this one product - I haven't used any other concealer since finding it years ago. The coverage is buildable and lasts all day, and a little tiny bit goes a long way (one little tube lasts me about 6 months). I use it under my eyes and around my nose, and sometimes on my cheeks if they're red. I have really sensitive pale skin that's oily sometimes and really dry other times, and this concealer never irritates it or makes it go bat shit cray, it just looks totally natural, even in photos and on camera (I was in an independent film and had to do my own makeup, and I used this). I love it.

  • Amy Hughes

I use benefits fakeup under my eyes for the added mouisture and nars radiant cream everywhere else. Finish up with tartes amazonian clay powder foundation and any nars blush and my face is legit perfect

  • Mac0813

It's not complicated. In the winter: la Roche posay tolerance riche or caudalie intense moisture rescue, let sit for 5 minutes ( while you make and pour coffee), followed by Makeup forever full cover.

  • Jayme Hope

I recently trusted my Clinique Aibrush concealer in Neutral Fair on my wedding day over my long-time favorite Cle de Peau concealer in Ivory. I made the switch due to the strong sell British makeup artist Lisa Eldridge made for Clinique Airbrush concealer on her tutorials.

  • Ines

Bobbi Brown conceal & correct for those days when you need it the most and Bobbi Brown Under Eye Brightener for everyday use, doesn't crease and illuminates your eyes instantly!

  • Christine

Estee Lauder's Maximum cover foundation, used as a concealer!

  • Rebecca

I love Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Undereye Concealer. On vacation I can go swimming in a pool and this still doesn't rub off...it truly is waterproof! It's also easy to build up for more coverage if desired. I also like to sweep a layer of Yves Saint Laurent's Touche Eclat over the top for an even brighter look that will last all day!

  • Celleste

Hourglass Hidden Concealer in Pearl - it's gluten-free, doesn't clog pores, has the right amount of 'glow', isn't drying at all, lasts all day, and doesn't crack over fine lines. The slight salmon tint also helps immensely with my dark, sunken undereyes.

  • Lolly

Bye Bye Undereye by Itcosmetics is by far the best concealer I've ever used and I've used them all. I was born with dark circles and a penchant for perfection so Ive been around the block and nothing comes close to how amazing it is.

  • Laurie

I love Bobbi Brown Concealer duo, NARS creamy concealer, and the price for the consistency and effectiveness of L'Oreal True Match Concealer from the drug store can't be beat!

  • meka

mac pro longwear. I don't love it, but its the only concealer that doesn't crease on my oily skin.

  • Gissie

Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer. It has a beautiful creamy consistency that sets after application, buildable coverage, and - here is the key element - the range just happens to have a color that matches my skin perfectly. It's so good in fact that I often forgo foundation and use the concealer to seamlessly even out my skin. TRUST, I love foundation and never walk out of the house without it; this concealer has given me newfound freedom.

  • Janine

I mix: NARS Radiant concealer in "Custard" with Maybelline FIT in '15," or I mix the Maybelline with IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye concealer in "Medium." I apply with the domed shadow brush from Real Techniques from their Travel Essentials kit. The best brush ever for concealer:

While the NARS and IT concealers stay put (hand on Bible, they do!) and don't move, Maybelline FIT gives each a slight bit of creaminess - plus, the FIT perfects the color. NARS is the absolute best but....FIT will surprise you. I use it in areas all on my face in place of foundation, sometimes, if I'm running to the gym and need quick coverage. I love it. A lot of pigment. More than you'd think.

Oh, and I've tried the Cle de Peau concealer - uh uh no. It made me look 500 years old. And I don't have a purely dry complexion.

  • Marie

THREE WORDS: CLE DE PEAU. Trust me on this. I have tried them ALL. I promise. Only cle de peau is absolute perfection.

  • Emma

I'm one of those people who kind of likes the sleepy under eye look, but with that being said, I've come to realize that as a woman who usually gets about 4 hours of sleep every night, it can be a really scary trend for me to follow. After multiple days of walking past my reflection at 4 o'clock in the afternoon and thinking that I'm looking at a picture of Jack Skellington, I decided maybe I should try and find a light weight something for the death bags that were dragging my face down. Touche Eclate sounds like it would be my jam, but I'm not particularly willing to spend a lot on make-up, so I just went into Target and grabbed Maybelline's Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer (which ties in with the recent pen fettish!), and I never felt the need to try anything else because it does exactly what I want it to. I rarely buy the same thing twice, but I'm currently on my third pen of this stuff.
Another great one for people who don't like too much coverage under there is Well-Rested face and eye brightener by BareMinerals. I use this when I've gotten a full night's sleep. It has a very subtle and pretty shine that never takes me to Sparkle Town, no matter how much I put on.

  • Anne

RMS "Un"coverup. It's the best cure-all. The coconut oil base of the product keeps the skin supple and hydrated, then it corrects for color. Too often, under eye concealers dry out the skin thereby drawing attention instead of deflecting it.

  • Katie

I've found that the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer works amazingly under my eyes!!

  • beeswaxnoneofyour

By Terry Touche Veloutee. It's light, blends beautifully and looks like you're wearing nothing. I have no idea how it works, but it covers but still looks like natural skin. There's no shimmer or glow or anything like that either - you just end up looking awake and radiant. And bonus, you get a lot more product for your money - something nuts like 6.5ml as opposed to the 1.2-2ml you get with just about every other pen. For £10 more than Touche Eclat, that's a bargain. I've been using mine over a year and it's still going!

  • queen

kryolan dermacolor! top quality and a good price

  • Anna

    1. Maybelline fit me concealer (covers blemishes and under eye area)
    2. Maybelline dream lumi touch (amazing touche eclat dupe)
    3. Make up store reflex cover (covers and highlights, good formula)

  • Claire O

Nars radiant creamy concealer, without a 'shadow' of a doubt! lol

  • Annisa

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eyes concealer! It has amazing coverage, perfect amount of pink tone that doesn't make my under eye area looking grey (I have yellow undertone skin, and sometimes pink toned concealer like Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer in shade Radiant makes my under eye area looking a little bit grey). I have super crease prone under eyes and Bye Bye Under Eyes does not crease at all, even when I forget to set it with powder! The finish is not dead matte, it has a little bit of sheen, even after set with powder, so it is great for brightening the area.
My second favorite is MAC Pro Longwear Concealer, mainly because it is so longwearing and does not crease on me at all, and not drying.

  • Katie

I LOVE Urban Decay's concealer pencil! Thick enough that it looks great without foundation but smooth so easily blendable

  • Katie Stratico

Tarte's Marajuca Creaseless Concealer, as you have pictured. It's in the name for crying out loud: this wonder NEVER EVER CREASES. And it is actually available in shades fair enough for my pale winter skin.

  • alisonclaire

Smashbox high def concealer. Nice coverage, doesn't crease, and blends well.

  • MH

    cle de peau!

  • Julie

I've found Benefit's Fake Up is the only concealer that doesn't melt or crease into fine lines. The hydrating ring truly makes a difference in keeping my delicate eye area supple and moisturized.

  • Kath

Love love love Bobbi Brown. My color is cool sand.

  • Annie

Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer. Coverage is medium but buildable and like the Healthy Mix Foundation, the texture is smooth and pliable and looks like real skin.

  • Juan Jaar

One of the ones I ALWAYS, have on hand is MAC Prolongwear. Amazing coverage and once it SETS, it ain't goin nan place (I went TUBING in a river in Connecticut, and through splashes and thrashes, mac made it happen). Good on facial skin too, wherever you need a lil extra and need it not to move ;)
Oh NYX HD is my current go to, and? It's. Five. Dollars... amazing.

  • renaphuah

I have slight dark circles and hates cakey concealers. My picks are By Terry Touche Veloutee for special occasions, and Rimmel Wake Me Up for everyday

  • Tanja

At the moment I am using the bobby brown concealer kit. I am not sure yet if this is the best I have ever tried, but so far I am quite happy with coverage.

  • stranger

hey!I love the Radiant Concealers!!!Wide selection of colours!!!I personally use 09!!I know it sounds dark!!but it's really not!!!It's just covers my circles without making them look grey!!!!they are the same colour as the rest of my face!and i do have dark circles!!!!Believe you me!!!

  • sophie brewster

Maybelline Fit Me and NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer - the Maybelline is a considerable dupe for the NARS one too. :)

  • alexa

Makeup Forever concealer palette 100%. A little tricky to use at first, but once you get the hang of blending the different shades its absolutely incredible!

  • June

Maybelline: Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer... $8, does the job REALLY well. I use it as a regular concealer as well.

  • Giulia

I'm in love with Benefit Cosmetics' Erase Paste!

  • Chloe Silverado

The Giorgio Armani High Precision concealer, with the Maestro Eraser on top if my dark circles are looking particularly terrifying!

  • Leticia Scala

    Benefit Erase Paste

  • Marcela

I'm a concealer junkie/hoarder and I'm always testing new ones. I've got four picks (they're all equally great): Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer, MAC Full Coverage Foundation (it's from their pro line, it's actually a heavy duty solid foundation that turns creamy when applied), Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer (a stick like Cle de Peau but I like this texture better) and Kiko Full Coverage Concelaer - super cheap and just as efficient as all of the other ones.

  • UndergroundLadies

I can't rave enough about the Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer ! Only available in the UK for just a couple of pounds, this concealer last all day long, match perfectly any type of skin ! The formula is amazing, creamy but not shinny, doesn't crease throughout the day ... It's a good dupe for the Nars creamy concealer, over hall they are quite similar and just wonderful !

  • Adri

I have a combination of dark under eyes with winkles and fine lines. I'm not even 20 yet. I've been using the Maybelline Age Rewind and it doesn't conceal that well for me. It just turns grey (I do have the right shade) and ceases within a couple minutes of application, even with setting it with a fine powder. I also tried a sample of the Nars Creamy concealer but it also creased, and didn't cover well for me. I am so frustrated. Do any of you ladies have an suggestions on a concealer that is thin in texture but full coverage? Sorry for rambling! Thanks xx

    • grumblemama

Make Up For Ever! Their Full Coverage is super heavy-duty with minimal creasing. I live in a subtropical climate and it stays put pretty well.

  • Linda

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in Place High Cover Concealer! I recently ordered this online from Sephora after trying many many concealers that don't cover my dark circles I have found the one. And it also has SPF of 35. Although I find it a bit pricey it works and a little goes a long way.

  • Elaine

Judith August Cosmetics' Orange Masking Crème is the best I've found. Their Everything Pencil Concealer is also awesome!

  • Ameena

I've been looking for a good drugstore concealer for a while now. I have very dark under eye circles and i just cant seem to find a concealer that wont crease on me or wear off...
