Origins' Paradise Found Balinese Body Glow is the one that got away (i.e. discontinued); it did things for my skin's texture that I didn't think were possible. Since then I've discovered that I love, absolutely love, Trader Joe's lavender sea salt scrub. The scent is bliss! And it leaves your skin with a gleaming, juicy glow.

I keep it simple - sugar and olive oil usually does the trick!

    • rfmb

Yes! Just 2 nights ago I made an olive oil and brown sugar scrub for my dryyyyyy areas near my back and with one use it's already as good as gold!

  • B

Balance Me does a brilliant one!
    Origins' microderm for body
    Malin + Goetz peppermint scrub!

  • Mademoiselle nature

Sugar scrubs are super easy to do. Choose a carrier oil such as jojoba or sunflower oil. Add some organic brown sugar. It you want to scent it, add 2/3 drops of your fav essential oil. And here we go! enjoy!

  • Christina Orlando

Fresh's Brown Sugar scrub is the best scrub on the planet. Hands down.

    • andee

Nah, even spilling up every single drip, I got ants forever with this stuff. Glow was great and super moisturizing. But the visitors were annoying

Clarisonic with the special body head

This one is kind of expensive and therefore I don't use it that often, but DermaDoctor KP Duty Scrub is amazing. At $46 a container it's definitely pricey but I only need to use it about 2x a week and the combination of chemical exfoliants in the product and the manual exfoliation of rubbing it on your body makes for extremely smooth skin. Always follow up with moisturizer though!

I got a Loofah in a gift bag once and it's awesome. I don't need a separate scrub I just loofah away with my Dr Bronners Rose Soap. Sometimes I cover whatever needs exfoliating in coconut oil and then loofah myself. I feel like that does the trick fairly well.
I don't like having extra stuff in my bathroom and wouldn't have bought a loofah for myself but it's great. Loofah > Bath Pouf.

The best ever for an easy scrub when it's too cold to leave the house: coarse raw brown sugar and olive oil. Thazzzz it! Just mix two tablespoons of olive oil with 3/4 cup of the brown sugar. Bring it in the shower and scrub! The brown sugar leaves a glow on your skin that's unmatchable. And, since sugar is water-soluble there's really no mess.

I like Bliss scrubs! You can really feel your skin has been polished! I have a minty one, but they should have one which warms up while using it, which is more suitable for winter I think. And try this one: Dermasuri’s Deep Exfoliating Mitt

  • Alexis

New obsession with coconut oil. I use it all over my body in the shower and recently just started experimenting with it on my face. I was kinda nervous at first, I have acne-prone skin, but I'm in school in Madison, WI and my skin gets so dry that I can't even smile. It's official: coconut oil can be used literally ALL over.

    • kt mo

freal, lots of complaints from acne prone people, but i've been battling acne for over a decade and coconut oil is marvelous for me literally everywhere.

  • Solange

REN salt exfoliating body balm. It is jaw-droppingly good. The smell is so fresh and invigorating, addictive almost, and the texture is unlike anything I've tried. It's buttery and grainy at the same time, moisturising AND exfoliating, best 20 pounds I've ever spent on a pot of salt.

  • Suki

Frank body coffee scrub. Australian brand that is the BEST thing out! Silky smooth skin hydrated with oils that don't leave you feeling greasy! Amaze!

  • Jane

Frank Body Scrub gets you stupid soft. Not a fan of the creepy brand voice (the persona of a dirty dude trying to seduce you in the shower?), the packaging itself sucks (like it is literally the same bag you would get your regular coffee grounds in), and the shit gets EVERYWHERE and will not rinse out of small shower crevices. BUT it is hands down the greatest scrub I've tried and well worth the cons. It smells intoxicating and puts up an admirable fight against Polar Vortex ravaged skin. Plus the caffeine apparently helps to "reduce" cellulite. Anything that makes my bum smoother I can definitely get behind.

    • Vanessa Reyes

This sounds like a pain in the a$$ to clean up but the results sound even better. I'm in!!! Did you use the original or the coconut & grapeseed?

      • Jane

grapeseed - i'm a sucker for coconut! my only tip is to take the time while you let it soak in to let the water run and wash out your tub

I've still been in the hunt for a great body scrub for winter! I want to try this.

  • Charlotte – CURATOR OF SOKO GL

korean body scrub by the ladies at king spa in jersey!

  • kls

Sabon salt scrub! preferably the patchouli lavendar vanilla scent. seriously the best scrub ever!

  • sophia

    korean bath towel

  • Madeleine11

I love the Neom Luxury Body Scrub and the Caudalie Divine Srub followed by their Divine Oil and feel truly like a godess afterwards:-)For cheaper alternatives I would recommend the Soap&Glory scrubs, especially Flake Away which smells like Chanel Coco Mademoiselle to me:-)

    • Bird

I would recommend the Crushed Cabernet scrub as well, but this is basically my routine. Yes, the Soap and Glory absolutely smells like Coco Mademoiselle- it can get a little overpowering sometimes!

  • desssie

love kiehls coriander exfoliator: it does a great job, and i am obsessed with the smell
even better in terms of effect and more neutral-scented, Clarins exfoliating body scrub is really awesome, with very fine grains that leave you with the softest skin ever
and just plain sand while sitting in shallow water in the summer ;)

  • Jordanne

I can't go past The Body Shop's Mango Sugar Body Scrub - it smells like heaven and leaves skin feeling super-soft and gorgeous.

  • Sophie

I've not yet beaten soap and glory's pulp friction...

  • andee

Philosophy Microdermabrasion. A scrub and body wash all in one. Fairly gentle, but does the job. Just stay away from the privates.

  • Bells

I love the sugar scrubs from Caudalie! And for a cheaper alternative that also smells great and has great beads, I pick Nivea Touch of Renewal :)

  • Anna

caudalie crushed cabernet scrub (super similar to the one above) really is THE best out there, especially when used in conjunction with the vine body butter. it's amazing because it better resembles a mush than a scrub, the particles are super fine and buff extremely well. and the scent is heaven. every winter I get insane dry patches all over my arms, almost resembling psoriasis, and this is the only thing that's managed to both heal AND prevent them.

on another note, the dermalogica exfoliating body scrub is the worst, harshest one i've ever used. I know ITG doesn't focus on negative reviews, but you have to sift through the bad to discover what's good!

  • kt mo

coffee grounds, turbinado sugar, almond oil, and honey. I AM SO THE SOFTEST.

  • Merrill

Trader Joe's Lavender Sea Salt Body Scrub- you feel incredibly moisturized after, and it's heavenly right before bed.

    • Cay

I second this! And you can pick it up while you're getting your organic peanut butter :).

  • KarenSantaFe

I use a variety of body scrubs, but my new fave is Paula's Choice Exfoliant. It's a cream that you but on after the shower, and leave on. It has hyaluronic (spelling?) acid and exfoliates the skin with that, so no actual "scrubbing" involved. Works great, and doesn't irritate! Great for pilaris keratosis too.

  • hollygoeslightly22

Jo Malone vitamin E treatment scrub. It melts into your skin and leaves it looking glowy and feeling soft.

  • joannanyc

I usually just dry brush before getting in the shower, then moisturize after, it seems to do the trick. I think scrubs are too messy, and the solid ones, like from Lush, always break up or melt away.

  • http://www.bethandbeauty.com/ Beth Graves

I am loving the one I recently got fro LUSH 's Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub. It smells wonderful and has just the right amount of grit to it to exfoliate and leave your skin so soft. I will be doing a review about this product soon on my blog. Today I have a review on some of the LUSH's Bath Bomb's out today on my blog. I would be honored if you and any of your viewers would check out my new blog here on Bloglovin or at http://www.bethandbeauty.com. Thanks in advance!

Moroccan hammam rituals are amazing! You can use a goat-hair scrub glove after lathering up with the traditional black soap, nothing works better for me to get all of the dead skin cells to fall off.

  • GeorgiaT

Frank coffee scrub. It's an Australian based brand and it has given me the smoothest skin! Not a fan of the original scrub - its a little over powering with the coffee smell (maybe because I'm not a coffee drinker myself?) but I love the coconut and grape seed one. Slightly messy in the shower but manageable and minimalist packaging that I really like.

  • Cee Cee

Pink Pepperpod body scrub by Molton Brown. The fact that the scrub is cream based means that it hydrates and moisturises whilst exfoliating. The natural bamboo particles in it that act as the exfoiliant, work wonders without being too abrasive. THE SCENT IT THE BEST THOUGH!!! #yum

  • sophie brewster

Palmers Cocoa Butter Scrub - smells insanely gorgeous, is really creamy but easy to work with and of course, buffs like a dream. :)

  • Amy

Josie Maran's Argan Scrub that sells on QVC so good!

  • Laura

  • Lorraine

Not a scrub, but the Salux washcloth is the best. Gets your body super smooth and can reach every spot. You can use it with your regular body wash. I'm not a fan of body scrubs because they can leave residue behind in the tub (yuck!). I buy them at asian supermarkets, about $7 and last a while before they need to be replaced.

  • MrsVogt

I normally HATE all things Bath and Body Works but their Aromatherapy Smoothing Body Scrub is the best. My husband is addicted to their whole Stress Relief Eucalyptus Spearmint scent and he's got me hooked, too! It's a unisex scent that lingers throughout the day so when your coworkers are driving you insane, a simple sniff with eyes closed will soothe your mind for a minute or two.....mmmm, I want to take a second shower today just thinking about it!

  • Elle m

Dry brushing with a shower brush. But I also use it under the shower with my fav shower gel. Smooth like a babies butt.

  • Victoria

The Caudalie Divine Scrub. Smells like heaven and exfoliates well without being too harsh!

  • BeautyInfo

TOP TIP: Buy a Japanese exfoliating towel and your problems are solved.

  • Petya

i make my own scrubs. I do a liitle batch before I shower....usually fine himalayan salt+extra virgin olive oil, or salt+honey+coconut oil. You don't need to moisturize after that. And once per week I scrub with silk glove.

  • Natalia

Coffee grounds all the way. Sometimes as is, sometimes with a little goats yoghurt (coconut oil might be another option to think of - so lovely). If you want to make it anti-cellulite - add a few drops of essential oils (lemon, neroli, grapefruit, for example) and Himalayan pink salt. :)

  • Jenee C

Korean loofah cloths are the best! Just soak your body in a hot tub and scrub all the dead skin away. You can go to korean sauna spas and they offer this service and scrub you down. Seriously, the best. You can buy the loofahs at Korean stores for like a $1!

  • Courtney

African Botanics - Marula African Muti Mud Body Scrub, mud scrub contains Marula oil, Cocoa, Avocado oil and African botanicals. The scent is peppermint and cocoa, leaves your skin silky soft, radiant and glowing!

  • lippyloop702

#SeneGence Body Scrub - with SenePlex Complex is gentle, highly effective and made
for all skin types. Exfoliating is important to keep skin smooth and
    allow for better moisture absorption.
Formulated with vitamin E, Shea Butter, Coco Butter and Coconut oil
it gently polishes and exfoliates leaving skin softened and soothed.
Great highly concentrated body scrub. Smells great too.

  • Lauren

Lola's Apothecary do a gorgeous one that's coconut oil, sugar and it smells incredible.

  • beeswaxnoneofyour

Guam's algascrub is pretty hardcore - oil, mint, algae, sea salt - it might be a bit too abrasive for sensitive skin though. I only break it out for desperate measures and usually only for my legs. Most of the time I use Clinique sparkle skin, as it's a finer grain creamy polish that still does the job.

  • beeswaxnoneofyour

And the best DIY low on funds scrub is solid coconut oil (because I find it satisfying to dig out big chunks) with brown sugar.

  • hclsaltaicd

DIY: 1 part coconut oil (melted), 2-3 parts turbinado sugar. Mix. Add a few drops essential oils if you feel like it (I usually don't). Store in a mason jar and it keeps well for a long while. Use about once a week. Bonus: You don't have to moisturize after your shower, the coconut oil does the job.

  • Julie

Dry brushing is the Graal. Not only a perfect scrub, but also Miranda Kerr's perfect cellulite-free baby skin's maker.

  • http://insertwth.com/ Denisse

I second - or third - anyone who suggests coconut oil and brown sugar. Super cheap and effective. It doesn't hurt that you end up smelling delicious!

  • Evelyn B.

Honey, warm olive oil, sugar and rose water. :) leaves me feeling like a very happy fresh scone.

  • AMorganBeauty

Trader Joe's makes a fantastic lavender body scrub.

  • Violaine

A good body-brush while in the shower :)

  • Sarah

No scrub at all! I prefer Japanese salux clothes or muji also has a no-name version. They are far cheaper, quicker, and more effective than any scrub I've used. I just put my body wash on one and use it everyday in the shower to clean and exfoliate. Go easy or just use the body wash on more delicate areas though.

  • Kristina

My bf uses Aesop's geranium leaf body scrub. I usually do some dry skin brushing before showering for exfoliation and to increase circulation.

5 tablespoons organic coconut oil, 5 tablespoons olive oil, 3 tablespoons ground coffee, 3 tablespoons brown sugar, a few drops orange juice or grapefruit juice. For some exfoliating enzymes you can add a little milk or yogurt to the mix. P.S. Before you exfoliate with this amazing scrub, you can moisturize the whole body with organic coconut oil. After this treatment you will not believe how soft and hydrated the skin is going to be.

  • Bconsumer

lush ocean salt. smells divine (probs from its combination of avocado, lime, and vodka). i adore the smell of l'occitane's verbena salt scrub as well but it hurts to use. this one is just perfect, however. feels like all the dead skin cells are falling off (without pain).

  • hclsaltaicd

Dry body brushing! This is so healthy, too!

  • sara

Totally love sacred earth body scrub!! It is 100% Natural and made with ultra fine
Dead Sea Salt, high grade essential oils etc. For the best looking back side ever, lol

  • http://beautystylespirit.blogspot.ca/ sara isi

Love Sacred Earth Body Scrub. It's feels lovely and silky, smells so sensual and leaves skin luxuriously supple and delicious!!

  • Dry skin fairy begone

Ooh La La Lamour's Ultimate Body Scrub is so different from others on the market, it doesn't separate and cause a huge greasy mess. It is Full of Shea butter and coconut oil and hand blended with raw sugar and honey. After using it you don't even have to worry about applying any lotions to your body. No more itchy tight skin feel. Love it. Rosemary Mint is AMAZING!!!!
