We’re calling it—the hair of Spring 2014: stick straight, not-a-stray-in-sight, and, in the words of hairstylist Odile Gilbert, “expensive.” The season's ads and magazines have only just begun to roll out, and so far 10 major fashion houses have employed the slick style in their campaigns: Gaga in Versace [1-6], Valentino [7], Givenchy [10], Miu Miu [32-33], Missoni [20-29], and Prada [11-16]. Unless you're fortunate enough to have naturally wash-and-go strands of silk, the best route to glassy, perfectly straight hair is cleansing and conditioning with Redken’s Diamond Oil collection, blowdrying with a flat, boar-bristle brush, and smoothing flyaways with a spritz of Balmain's weightless Silk Perfume, or upping the reflective wattage with a few drops of Aesop Shine, which you can think of as Moroccan Oil's less oily and more herbal-y cousin.

The world needs more Christy Turlington.

I've just "gone natural" and am rejoicing in my wild, wild curls, so I'll watch from afar :). I'm not even envious. My ghd's are unemployed after never leaving my side for 13 years. Wooooohoooooo!!!!

is that an ideal brush for brushing/blowdrying curly hair straight? also anyone try the alleged mason pearson style brush from sonia kashuk? im curious about how similar it could be..

I think I'll really go all into this trend for spring. My hair is naturally curly towards wavy but I tent to straighten is anyways leaving some volume. I'll try making it stick straight next time to see how it goes.

Not exactly like these pictures, but there's an older woman who comes into my work (I work on the bar at a restaurant) with white blonde, thick, "stick straight, not-a-stray-in-sight," Anna Wintour hair, and its amazing.

Love, love, love. Pulling out my flat iron now.

fan bingbing is an effing goddess. if you don't know about her, just google her. i dare you to find one bad picture of her. i dare you.

Funny, I am one of the lucky naturally straight haired ladies and I just made a hair appointment to chop my long ass, one length mane. I've always envied women with hair that shows more texture.
