The Hollywood Reporter’s 2013 Actress Roundtable

1

The Hollywood Reporter has released their annual roundtable interviews in preparation for awards season, featuring an array of the industry’s top men and women (actors, producers, directors, etc.), but this year’s Actress Roundtable is without a doubt the must-watch of the group. With three Oscar winners (Octavia Spencer, Julia Roberts, Emma Thompson), two Oscar nominees (Oprah Winfrey, Amy Adams), and one woman who will almost certainly be nominated for—if not win—this year’s Best Supporting Actress Academy Award (Lupita Nyong'o), the talent gathered at the table is pretty damn inspiring. As the women discuss motherhood, womanhood, their craft, admiration for one another, and as Oprah does her best to not take the interviewing reins from the moderators (she’s only human!), it feels like a privilege to be a fly on the wall for their fascinating (albeit not brief) conversation. So, from us to them: congratulations, ladies, on all of your accomplishments. You are amazing. We love you. You inspire us. And we aspire to be like you. You are woman, we hear you roar.

P.S. You heard it here (and a lot of other places) first: Lupita Nyong'o is the next big thing. Her voice. Her sincerity. Her poise. She's awesome.

The Hollywood Reporter has been BRINGING IT as of late. It's also exciting to see an actress roundup/round table that's effortlessly diverse -- something that continues to elude pubs like Vanity Fair.

Maybe, ahem, get Lupita for a beauty profile?!?!?
