For those of us who consider the wild beauty trends seen at fashion week just a bit too wacky for everyday life, consider Halloween the opportune moment to raise up your inner freak flag. No better time to live out every little girl's fantasy, splash some sparkles across your face, and channel Drew Barrymore in Ever After.

The fairy/wood nymph/goddess/princess-in-disguise look is an easy-to-do, last-minute-appropriate, you-still-look-pretty Halloween getup that will leave you comfortable and covetable. Just grab some of the glitter and sequins we know you have lying around, hot pink MAC pigment, or some gold leaf, and have at your face. (Focus on the eyes, obviously, but your cheekbones and brow bones are prime sparkle territory.) Apply a heavy dose of highlighter to your cheeks, down your nose, on your cupid's bow, and even a swipe across your clavicle and down your décolletage. Then, just braid your hair, maybe add a crown (jeweled, plastic, flower, or otherwise), and top off with a bedazzled pin...or ten. Alternately, you can crimp, curl, or beach up your ‘do (or give it a serious pixie-esque chop) and be sure to flutter those glittered lids along with your newly acquired wings.

Love this! Fairy makeup is so pretty and always what I tend to go for halloween-time :) Plus, this and Christmas are the only times I can whip out my sparkly white eye pigments!!
