Shu Uemura’s New Generation S Curler

When you scribble “Never change” in your BFF’s yearbook, what you're really saying is, hold onto that fun-loving spirit, stay true to what makes you you, but you know, maybe don’t wear head-to-toe Juicy Couture sweatsuits ‘til the end of days. We feel the same way about our favorite beauty products. Be it a no-frills face cream or a standby tube of lipstick, we want to be able to rely on these things for the qualities we’ve always really needed, but we still expect them to keep up with the times.

Well, world, meet the new-and-improved Shu Uemura eyelash curler, the S Curler. Yes, the beauty tool famous enough to earn a punchline in The Devil Wears Prada (uttered by Gisele, no less: "We were in the Beauty Department and [Andy] held up this Shu Uemura eyelash curler and said, 'What is this?' [Laughs to Emily]") has taken a step into the future with the most precious little curler we have ever laid eyes on. Coming in at less than an inch wide, it's designed to fit all types of eyes, deep- and shallow-set, imparting anything from an outer lash perk-up to a corner-to-corner intense curl, depending on where you use it. Employ across the base of your lash line for a mini boost, or curl from base to tip, for a Hello Dolly moment. Though Shu Uemura's best-selling original Eyelash Curler isn't going anywhere, this so-called 'New Generation Eyelash S Curler' addresses your personal needs, whatever they may be. You gain a little more precision, a little more control. How's that for modern?

I have quite a few curlers, and the original Shu and Shiseido are my absolute favorites. I am definitely going to give it a try! The shape of this new one looks very interesting and honestly I don't think Shu would put out a curler that doesn't work!

    Very intrigued!

I was so excited to try it ... finally found it at Sephora in Toronto. Huge disappointment. No comparison to their classic eyelash curler. I took it back for a refund after two disappointing tries. It just didn't work for my wide almond eyes with long lashes. I had to curl them in 4 sections. Who has time for that? The classic version is classic for a reason - ou can't improve perfection.
