There is a new exclusive club in town. We have yet to find a clubhouse (we’re hunting), but membership is limited. The requirement? A full head of pink hair. I’m a recent convert myself, and while our members consist of mostly women, we’re open to adding a few pink-haired gentleguys to keep Mr. Sam McKnight company.
Bright hair only appears every so often in day-to-day life, and mainly in the “alternative” crowd. But bold-hued heads have had a consistent presence in the Japanese cosplay community and in the wonderful world of Tumblr (just search “bright hair,” “dyed hair,” or the color of your choice + hair— beware of the NSFW stuff). And now, with taste-the-rainbow tresses appearing on the 2013 runways of Theyskens’ Theory, Chanel resort, and Givenchy Fall 2013, and on lots of models and It girls (hello Charlotte [25-27] and Kate [1-5]), it seems like a mass-market resurgence is in order.
You may have heard that blondes have more fun, but you guys haven’t hung out with us yet.
