Though I’m mainly a black and white kind of gal, every so often I start really feeling a very specific pastel color palette. Some idle Tumblr/Google meandering this week led me to artist Will Cotton, and I dragged Cotton Candy Katy into my "inspiration" folder.
1. These mint, white, and black Kenzo patent-leather loafers are just the right amount of 1950s masculine tailoring, saccharine coloring, and weight (because when you’re getting into flowy, summery things, that’s what you need on your feet).
2. Helmut Newton: Polaroids: Buying coffee-table books for yourself is not always a top priority, but you should consider making an exception for this one. Front-to-back, it’s one of the most consistently relevant, inspiring things I own. The man was a genius. I mean, just look at the cover. And imagine how good it’d look on your coffee/bedside table.
3. Cire Trudon Yaz Bukey Candle: Yaz is a Paris-based Turkish jewelry designer with a wicked sense of color (and humor). Her latest project, this leather-jacket—seriously, the aroma couldn’t be more on-the-nose—scented candle with Cire Trudon looks and smells sexy as hell.
5. MAC Haute & Naughty Lash Mascara: Oh Haute & Naughty, how I love thee, even though I never know how to pronounce "haute" when I recommend it to people. (I know, but it’s like saying Ibeetha instead of Ibeeza—awkward.) When you want a light-as-air, barely there swipe of mascara, nothing beats the Haute side of the brush.
