Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer Stress-Minimizing Daily Hydrator

Kiehl’s has a new moisturizer out and this one not only promises to, you know, moisturize your skin, but also alleviate stress. Screw yoga, meditating, and medicating! Is a cream is all you need? Probably not, but for those of us who find the practice of flexibility and core-strength training to be anything but peaceful (and others who find medication a bit too far in the opposite direction), this might be a good place to start the unwinding process, even if just facially.

Made with rosa gallica botanical extract, mannose, and chamomile, the Skin Rescuer Stress-Minimizing Daily Hydrator pledges to “reduce visible signs of stress and flare-ups including skin fatigue and redness." We haven't had enough face time (pun definitely intended) with the cream to feel any changes in our psyche, but have had no complaints otherwise. The fairly lightweight moisturizer does the job without any heavy aroma, and without getting pilly when other creams/foundations/serums/etc. are applied on top. It worked well for Elizabeth's sensitive skin. Plus, isn’t there something so “old-fashioned apothecary” about Kiehl’s packaging? We’ll have to wait and see if the moisturizer delivers on it’s promises about stress relief, but at least we know it will look good on our medicine cabinet shelves.

This sounds like such a nice treat! Maybe too heavy to wear daily on my oily skin, but definitely something to use as a boost when my skin is looking red or when I've been bad with getting enough sleep. I agree that Kiehl's packaging is super appealing. Always tempting! Thanks for the review :)

I guess I can appreciate a turn away from "anti-aging" bull crap towards "stress relief" creams, seeing as how the former really doesn't show its true colors until you're old enough to be a cougar. I've always liked Kiehls, but not sure I like it more than Mario Badescu...especially on the fragrant front.

If Lamer was the same price as my morning mocha, we'd all be set for life!

I love Kiehls' products, this sounds lovely.

I've been using this lotion for the last week and have enjoyed it. It's a fabulous day lotion--not too heavy but moisturizes thoroughly. I haven't really noticed any changes in redness. This is actually my favorite day cream of theirs yet.

I agree about Kiehl's packaging, one million percent, and I have a lot of their products. However, I feel like a lot of people lost faith with Kiehl's when they were bought by L'Oreal and--I don't know, changed formulas, discontinued formulas? Would love to see a feature about what happens to products/reputation when a small line is bought by big company.

I think this is supposed to make you looked like you're not stressed out, not actually put you at ease emotionally and mentally. Regardless, I am so excited to use this as I have adult acne, caused by stress, and want to try this because it sounds like what my skin needs; hydration, soothing properties, and keeps blemishes at bay!

I think the intention is to reduce the effects of stress on your skin, not make you less stressed.

Well. But having the effects of stress on my skin produces stress again, so I guess this product does break this vicious circle...

I've been using this for at least 2 weeks now and absolutely love it. I have fair skin and get quite red on my cheeks, chin, and around my nose. This has greatly reduced the redness and improved my overall skin texture and color - not to mention it's super hydrating. I use it instead of a serum underneath the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream. Even my boyfriend noticed that my skin looks less red and is glowing!
