Consider, if you will, the humble polka dot. Yayoi Kusama, whose traveling retrospective garnered rave reviews and whose 2012 collaboration with Louis Vuitton is nominated for the Design Museum's Design of the Year award, is a notably big fan. “I’ve always made works with polka dots,” Kusama told the Huffington Post last July. “Earth, moon, sun, and human beings are all represented by dots; a single particle among billions.”

So, maybe it was the echo of Kusama's words, or the recent Armory Week art bonanza, or the Sotheby’s Contemporary Art party (where we spotted a small Kusama polka-dot pumpkin), but there’s something so right on the money about Nail Rock's ' Seeing Spots' sticker appliqués, right down to the color choices (red and white, yellow, black and blue), and the name. Which isn’t even to mention how good they’ll look on your nails, in juxtaposition to all the pared-down, graphic fashion for fall. And hey, they’re a lot cheaper than a real Kusama.
