Placing Bets

Proenza Schouler's Spring/Summer 2013 David Sims-shot campaign is out, and it features Julia Nobis and Irina Nikolaeva with hair by Paul Hanlon and makeup by Diane Kendal (the same dream duo who worked the show). The Proenza girl remains the same, rocking the "dirty, day-old Kurt Cobain hair" Hanlon pulled out for the September show and Kendal's famously undone, no-makeup makeup. The androgynous, tattooed, too-cool Nobis also starred in the latest Saint Laurent campaign, and though we're not normally the betting type—and it may be too soon to say, but who's counting—it looks like she's gearing up to be the girl of the season. Call us crazy, but something about her is just screaming "new Freja..." Or the "new Aymeline," right? Or just call us crazy.
