I'm a huge fan of her products and just loved this post! I have been dedicated to her tinted moisturizer for over 7 years! Just a dot of it gives you perfect coverage, while remaining super light, which certainly comes in handy living in the Caribbean (think pretty much year round hot climate, where heavy makeup is not so fabulous!). My good friend has the distribution rights for her products throughout Asia and brought me a ton of Laura Mercier goodies a year ago when she came to visit. I must say that EVERYTHING - from eye shadows to lip glosses - is truly amaaazing.

Incredible! Ms. Mercier is so refreshing and beautiful. Her words carry wisdom and much truth. Foundation, concealer, etc should be hidden and should not be detectable on a face, and I believe that is what so many girls tend to struggle with when they first try out makeup. I sure did. The skin on my face isn't the most wonderful skin in the world, but I try my best to make it look better, not make it look like a different piece of skin entirely. I hope that one day I can finally master the art of camouflaging incognito, no. trace. whatsoever. !

Thank you for this! I was going to go to le bon marche to pick up her tinted moisturizer today and it would have been awkward if I had asked for it and decided not to buy it after seeing the price... I had been a loyal Laura Mercier customer for years back in New York and I really miss the products...

Okay, I had never seen that video before and I had a lot to say about Laura Mercier but I think I am now speechless. Makeup is fantastic but also, that was the best thing I've ever seen.

I love the Laura Mercier line. Btw I'm walnut in the tinted moister user, MAC NC45/NW 50 and Bobbi Brown 6.0-6.5 stick foundation. Her caviar sticks are better than any other brand's eye shadows sticks. They last all day on oily eyelids. The LM oil-free primer is the best . It doesn't 't have that weird feel that heavy silicone primary's have. I use with oil free primer with a light setting powder & I can skip foundation or even the tinted moisturizer.

What a great interview. I love Laura Mercier and I love her oil-free tinted moisturizer! I discovered it a few years ago and will never go back to foundation again. How fun to read about Laura's start with Madonna. And her makeup was indeed perfect in 'Take a Bow.'

Wonderful post and amazing brand. My only grip regarding Laura Mercier (the brand) is that it is much more expensive in France (Laura's native country and part of her inspiration, obviously) than in the US, for example. In Paris you have to pay more than $60 for her tinted moisturizer (!!!), and you never get the deals you get with her US website (there is none of it in France). It's quite a pain when you've been a loyal customer to the brand.
Also, about the red lipstick on a bare face.. It is lovely when the face has been properly concealed. Wearing a bright lipstick with visible broken capillaries on your nose or cheeks will not make you look great (in my opinion).
Other than that her products are superb and I love her philosophy regarding makeup.
