I cannot reply to all of your ladies' comments regarding actual natural skin products, but I much say I loved to read the comments in this case even more than the interview. I was also one of the people who did not look up the ingredients of the products they used but trusted the lable. Well, not anymore. I still have a lot to learn, but I am always open to suggestions and I feel like this blog (and in particular the comments) has taught me more than my research on internet so far! So thank you party poopers ;).

I actually trie the escargot cream, and depending on what brand you get, you ofcourse get different % of the "snail goo" in the creams. I was also afraid of animal cruelty being involved here, but I researched some and generally no snails are killed or "tested upon", but it's kind of like a silkworm making silk philosophy. I guess some people would also have issues with that as well, but that's another story. It works! My face felt heavenly. I guess we're catching up to the trend here in the US.

Other than that, her skin is gorgeous.

Apryl: Lush is awesome, but they actually do use preservatives in a lot of their products, which is pretty much essential for stability. Methylparaben, mostly. Don't worry, though, just look up the ingredients :)
Products that don't have preservatives can be great, but because they can expire, you should be particularly careful of the breakdown of ingredients like essential oils and fragrances: the molecules can break down and turn into something nasty. I won't get into the chemistry.

Also, Bio-Oil isn't really a combinations of essential oils, it is mostly mineral oil. Which is alright, petroleum-based ingredients are hard to avoid in our lives and aren't as horrible as people think (well, in most of the ways we are told they are), but it's definitely not the best for your skin. You can buy sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, or sesame oil for much less than the price of Bio-Oil, actually! And oils like jojoba, rosehip and sea buckthorn (more expensive, however) have even better properties. Anyway, just fyi. I think Emily has talked about oils before ;)

Her skin is so amazing, I think I'll have to check out that snail cream! I wonder what the other ingredients are... haha I can be such a party pooper. Not trying to suck the fun out of ITG!! I love it!

Very cool. I tried the snail goo, but honestly if you look at the ingredients, they're listed pretty far down on even the highest end products which makes me think the moisturizing effect is really the traditional ingredients like emollients and humectants that are used in $5 jars of moisturizers sold in dept stores.

I wanted to get some Bio Oil because it is just a bit over $10 and my skin seems to be doing great with oils. But then I saw the ingredients and it is not a "blend of essential oils" at all. Paraffinum is a petro by product known for clogging pores and causing premature aging; Parfum is another way of saying the product contains phthalates which are major hormone disruptors; Mineral Oil is the main ingredient which is a cheap, pore-clogging petrol derivative; PurCellin Oil is a synthetic byproduct extracted from duck glands so you're putting animal by-product on your face; and even the light pink color is artificial from a synthetic dye called CI26100 which is listed on EWG as a potential carcinogen which is classified as toxic to organs. Sorry to get Debbie Downer here, but it seems a lot of the time you really do get what you pay for. Spring for that bottle of Argan Oil instead which you can get at various price points from $14 at Whole Foods to $36 for Kahina, etc.

So funny you placed this article today. I just ordered the chubby stick in voloptuous violet and I was worried it would not look good with my fair skin, blue eyes and blonde hair. Now I cannot wait to receive it... Great article!
