Kiehl’s Rare Earth Pore Minimizing Lotion

Kiehls Rare Earth Pore Minimizing Lotion

Things we’ve learned through our pursuit of beauty, truth here at Into The Gloss: nobody likes pores. Even the word ‘pores.’ Nobody likes it. If we had our way, pores would do their job, invisibly (that job being to act as an outlet for the oil generated by one's sebaceous glands—don’t get us started on ‘sebaceous glands,’ either). If you have 'oily skin,' your pores are bigger than average (to allow the release of all that oil), and as you get older, your pores dilate. How’s that for bad news? Fret not! Kiehl’s Rare Earth Pore Minimizing Lotion with its magical sounding ‘Amazonian White Clay’ (the bottle says it's sourced from the Marajó Island at the mouth of the Amazon River) is here to minimize your pores and refine your skin texture. Unlike other serums and goopy ointments which promise similar results but can feel heavy, sticky or slick, this stuff soaks right in and gives you a refined, smooth, matte result that feels light (after all, who wants to layer more product on their face?). And we swear our pores are shrinking every day—fingers crossed, anyways.

been wondering what's this new found obessesion with pores minimizer
and tried it a few days ago...
    it's pretty good
but is it healthy for your skin?

Silicon is pretty high on the ingredients list so I'd say not, I prefer products that actually aim to fix the issue rather than coat it over temporarily, anything that sits on top of the skin freaks me out

I've been cursed with oily skin, so anything that helps minimize those gnarly open pores, I'm all in!

I have tried this stuff and don't like it. It dries out the skin so much that I did not use it long enough to check if it had actual effect on my pores :). I rather have big pores than the feeling that my skin is two sizes to small ;). Good it works for you guys though!

I don't know, I found it didn't really agree with my skin (read: pimples). I was wearing it in the summer tho, when I was sweating like a bitch.

A make-up artist told me that you can't minimize pores forever, you can only "fill" them or temporarily dehydrate them so they look smaller (since they're trying to keep the moisture in).

This product seems like it does a little bit of both and needs to be used on a daily basis, as soon as you stop using it I'm sure your pores will go back to normal.

He also told me that if you don't wash your face at night (I'm the WORST for this) that the dirt can actually enlarge your pores. So it kinda sucks that they can get bigger and not smaller.

Anyway, I'm just waiting to finish my Body Shop products before I switch to a suitable Kiehl's line - I've heard nothing but great things about their stuff - you just have to make sure you use the product(s) right for you and your skin needs.

Try the cleanser! It changed my skin, and my life ;) no more pores and it dries impurities without completely drying out the skin!

    • Dianna

Which cleanser do you recommend for minimizing the pores?

  • ROKderm

Sounds amazing! is it an all over treatment serum, or do you use it only on your nose/forehead?
